News is "Starman" made it to Mars. Too bad the dead Tesla batteries kill chance for more photos. Why didn't they install a solar panel on the car to power the camera? just sayin'.

Two years later, Elon Musk’s red Tesla Roadster reaches Mars

December 28, 2020 at 6:27 am EST

Two years after being launched into space, Tesla’s Starman has finally reached Mars.

Elon Musk and SpaceX launched the 2008 Tesla Roadster into space with the hopes of reaching Mars.

Not just the car, but also the mannequin in the driver’s seat.

While it’s certainly a feat worth celebrating, we won’t be seeing any photos of the adventure.

The battery of the vehicle has died, which means the cameras attached are pretty much worthless.

Back in October, SpaceX shared on social media that Starman had made its first close approach with the Red Planet.

They may have used this as a test to make sure they could launch ok, but also seems somewhat like a vanity project, too. Although, I don’t know enough about Musk to know that for sure.

No, I think you're going out on a limb, there. He seems a quiet, unassuming person to me.

It may have been the - 455 degrees F below zero that had something to do with it?
