Looking for a coffee pot which will heat "day-old" coffee hot enough to drink.

I drink a 1/2 per day.
The second day, I put the timer on to start the maker an hour prior to getting up.
When I get up, the coffee is hot............like a fresh pot.

My Kitchen Aid died a couple months ago.
I purchased the same brand, same model.
Unfortunately, the heating pad only warms the coffee.......so microwave zapping it required.
(Kitchen Aid said they changed their spec's)

Anyone got a hot product??

I have a Keurig and a Nespresso ( great machine) there both fast , the Keurig is under a $100 and I’ve heard that there is even a smaller version, the nespresso is over $200 but gives you wonderful coffee just as good as the expensive machines

My wife is a coffee lover and has a Keurig. It has options for various cup size, strong boost, hot water, water temperature and descale. Also a timer. The reservoir holds about eight cups of water.

You would like a Keurig. A fresh cup in a minute any time you want one. If you did buy one, don't buy the base model.

If my Keurig were to break today, I would buy a new one tomorrow...

Sorry Dewi, I can't resist since you lobbed a hanging curve right over the middle of the plate. No problem with paying a 25% tax increase to subsidize impact fees, but no way in hell will you waste a day old half cup of coffee :boom:

I had a Keurig for many years, but then I realized how much more expensive it was to use, unless you used the refillable cups. Also, all those empty k cups are adding more crap to the landfills.
I now use an old fashioned electric coffee pot. Love the coffee it makes. Or even better, use a French press where you can make more then 1 cup of coffee at a time in about 3 minutes.

As if you said obviously it's not going to be fresh and you should continue to microwave it it's a lot quicker and just as easy at the end. But personally I let mine sit for a two or three hours as I have lots of pills, and then by 11:00 or 12:00 I'll chuck in ice cubes for some ice coffee

Your problems are solved! We simply LOVE our Ninja coffee machine as it allows us to make a “pot” anywhere from a single cup, to a travel cup, to a large mug, to a half pot, and finally a full pot!” It uses regular ground coffee, no need for expensive pods, has a automatic timer function, and also allows you to choose the strength of the brew. We think it’s awesome. We found it about a year ago at Sam’s and I believe it was around $100. Worth every penny.

Cuisinart DCC2600......nice hotplate

I'll concur with Cuisinart brand. We're on our second Cusinart DCC-1200 over the course of about 17 years. We specifically wanted a brand that made hot coffee and had a good hot plate. Having a cup now, actually.

Below is a YouTube review. This machine is sold all over the place. You'll see in the review that this machine uses small cheap charcoal filters. You can get 24 replacement charcoal filters for $13.xx.

This machine has a hotplate heat ("carafe temperature") setting knob. We keep ours on "H" for high. That's what you need.

The machine comes with a gold-colored coffee basket. We don't use that. We use paper filters - Size 4 cone-shaped paper.

The review shows some printing on the bottom of the front of the coffee maker. That must be a label the reviewer didn't take off, as ours doesn't have that.

Note the height of the machine in the review.

Microwave. We have used a coffee maker with thermal carafe for years. Hot plates burn the coffee. Use Microwave to reheat coffee in the cup for 60 seconds or so. Results in a warm cup as well on cool mornings and keeps coffee hot for a while longer because cup gets heated too. Do Microwaves really create radioactive food?

We LOVE our coffee maker. It is a Phillips and it grinds the beans and makes 1 or 2 single cups at a time. You can choose strength, temperature and amount each time you make a cup. So you can have coffee any time of day just the right strength and temperature. You’ll need to save your current maker for when you have large group ( or have each person make heir cup). Could not be happier as I have a couple cups in the morning and one in the afternoon it self cleans each time you turn it on but I periodically put all the parts in the dishwasher.

We have a Ninja coffee maker. Ninja make several models. We have the CE251 ($79 on Amazon). This coffee maker heats the coffee to 197 degrees, hotter than most coffee makers and has a heating hot plate. Should we have at least a 1/2 pot left from the previous day we set the timer as if to brew a new pot and about a half hour later the left over coffee is as hot as if just brewed.

(1) I completely respect that you want a coffee maker to use on day 2, but if its OK I want to mention possible alternatives, just in case you might like one of those (2) I'm uncertain as to why you do not wish to use the microwave, but I think you have a reason. (3) Have you tried iced coffee? I like it, especially with sugar and milk, or for a treat, a desert with vanilla ice cream. (4) Are you familiar with the concept of "a toddy"? This is a double strong batch of coffee. You then add hot or cold water (whichever temperature you want) to produce a hot or iced coffee to drink. Toddies can last about 4 days.

Don't waste your money on Kitchen Aide. We bought an expensive ($$$) coffee maker and when it failed just after warranty, I was told by KA that they do not repair their small appliances and to buy a new one. Bought a Hamilton-Beach, on sale at Kohls, for $12 and it does exactly what you are looking for. Makes good, hot coffee and the heating plate gets very hot and stays that way. Have had it for about 5 years and it's still working great.

If you are a coffee freak like I am, the two best coffee makers that brew at the absolute perfect temperatures are the technovorm mochamaster and the Bonavita ???. These are what the coffee purists would buy. But you need to buy a plug in timer if you want the coffee ready at a certain time. If you want more convenience the Cuisinart models have a carafe temp mode plus clock and they brew a decent cup.

Shy away from the mochamaster. The caraffe has no insulation, no hot plate, and IMO it makes horrible coffee. Plus it's not programmable. And they're $300. I just sent one to Goodwill after suffering through 8 years of bad coffee. I thought it was the coffee brands, but the Bunn my son gave me makes wonderful coffee from the same brands. However, that doesn't have a hot plate either, so you'll want something else.

Nope. I take no write-offs for stuff I give to GoodWill. The cost of the machine (which is touted all over the internet as the best coffee maker in the world) is what caused me to keep it for so long. I thought it was me, or the coffee. It wasn't. Same coffee brands in the Bunn my son gave me tastes great.

Since you are probably not a particularly discriminating coffee drinker, here is my suggestions (coming from an admittedly fervid coffee snob): Step 1.) Don't buy a Kurig - insanely wasteful way to make a mediocre cup of coffee. Step 2.) Make a pot of 4 to 6 cups of coffee. Drink a cup and then place the balance in a sealable glass jar when cool. Place in fridge. Before bed place the next day's aliquot of cold coffee in your favorite ceramic coffee mug and place on a warmer like the one linked below (This one is the best I've used - hotter than most). Cover with non-flammable object such as a small saucer. Attach the warmer to a simple household timer and adjust to turn on 1 hour prior to consumption, and to turn off at the time or your choice. It's that simple. Enjoy.

I like good coffee, but I'm not a wine snob when it comes to coffee.

Correction..................maybe.

Cup heater won't work unless I buy six of them............I drink ~1/2 pot per day (sometimes 1/4 pot, sometimes 3/4 pot).
Win1984 has a good idea, and the warmer he linked to looks big enough to hold the carafe of leftover coffee.

(i know, i know......life is tough, but i'm trying to get thru it)

So why not just make 1/2 pot each day, no waste and hot coffee daily. I’m a tea drinker and use hot pot to heat water OR my keurig

Don't know why you're so snarky. This is a community forum of people helping others. keeping something for 8 years of bad coffee because it cost $300 is pretty unbelievable, life is to short

You would like a Keurig. A fresh cup in a minute any time you want one. If you did buy one, don't buy the base model.

If my Keurig were to break today, I would buy a new one tomorrow...

I also like a Keurig because it fast,
and makes a great cup.
But if my Keurig were to break today,
I’d get out the spare!
