Regrets? I’ve had a few. But then again, too few to mention.

We were in a situation where we didn't really have much "wiggle room" to do what we might've preferred to do. I'm very glad we chose our area, I'm very happy with the neighborhood, and everyone living near us. I love the proximity to commerce, and the golf cart bridge is fun (yes, it's fun.).

If we had the opportunity and the means to do other than exactly what we did? Probably bought a dilapidated single-wide on a large
or double lot. Then, razed the structure and replaced it with a site-built. Added an extra-long driveway leading to a 2-car garage AND golf cart garage round the back, the laundry machines inside the house instead of the shed.

But it'd be in the same general area, in walking distance to the postal station and/or the pool and/or the top of the hill.

No regrets I lived my life at full speed for most of 40 years in countries that were experiencing some kind of conflict . I had lots of fun and lots of danger and never had a plan for the future , I just always lived in the moment and getting to 82 and financially stable was just pure luck

The biggest one was taking that first cigarette when I was 18. Tried and tried to stop for so many years, feeling so disgusting about stinking and what I was doing to my lungs. 20 years later, finally quit for good in 2003.

I tried for 6 months to get an extra $10,000 for my house up north. Now that I'm here I would gladly pay that amount for those 6 months back so I could use them in The Villages.

ditto here La - same story to a T. Back then, it was the "in thing" - me= Marlboros, just like the cowboys in the ads. Tried to quit 25 times over the years. Finally in mid-90's, had a very bad flu, and after 4 days of stopping had the fortitude and will to stop for good - one more day at a time. One of the toughest things to accomplish in my life. But after all these years, I could STILL go for a puff after that first coffee in the morning. Just shows the easy addition to the human body. I imagine folks addicted to Crack, etc etc.

No regrets.
Sometimes I wonder what my life would have been like if I had stayed in the Navy instead of getting out after my first hitch. But my life can't be any better than it is, with the choices I have made.
I thank God every day for the life he has given me.

Not sure what you are asking.
My view, while I can make sudden decisions, I check things out before I do anything.
Of course I've, we've all made mistakes- the path not taken. Do overs are rare except in third grade.
Regrets? Somethings cannot be changed. Others what is the cost if, I decide to change?

I made plenty of mistakes. Not sure I regret any of them. A life lived without regrets is a life lived with no risks, and that is no life at all. I too could just as easily be living in a 1 bedroom apt in a basement somewhere subsisting on social security alone. Just pure blind luck finds me here overlooking a pool and golf course with my feet up, contemplating golf this afternoon.

Regrets: I made many of the fundamental kind but also made many good decisions.
Regarding the Villages, I regret that after our intial 3 day visit, we didn't jump on it and start spending winters here. Instead we did nothing for a bunch of years and finally did our first rental in the Villages in January 2019. What an impressive community in many ways.

What would you do different?
I regret buying a summer home in Tennessee because it was turned into a drug lab and burnt down, total loss. The rural areas are less expensive than being close to towns, but there are many problems with rural properties. Too bad because the fresh air, large acreage, low taxes, nice views, different society, and little traffic were enjoyable.
I should have picked Oregon state.

Regrets.....I have a few. I walked away from a 1/2 College scholarship for basketball after my junior year. I should have finished. I wanted a full scholarship for my stupid, juvenile pride. I often regretted that move. I just hurt myself!

Regrets? I’ve had a few. But then again, too few to mention.
I regret almost every car that I owned and now do NOT. I had a nice 57 Chevy that was stolen. I sold a nice 63 Cadillac. I had a Corvair that I bought for $100. I had an AMC Matador, which is very rare today - a powerful, fast, great car that could be purchased very reasonably back then. I had a 1964 Mercedes sedan. I had a 1970 diesel Mercedes sedan. I had a 1989 Lincoln coupe that was very fast. I had a 1970 VW beetle that was way-cool. I had a 1965 Vespa motor scooter with a top speed of 65 MPH, a cool babe-magnet! - and I could even use it off-road pretty well. I had an old Honda motorcycle that would go 65 MPH while getting close to 100 miles /gal. I had a 1964 Plymouth Fury that towed my 57 Chevy to Fl. and was very quick from red light ( to the legal speed, of course).

I am probably forgetting a few also. And I regret everything that I have forgotten that was good and fun.

What would you do different?
Regrets.....I have a few. I should have gotten a degree in economics or financing instead of accounting, which can be tedious, tense, and not motivationally interesting.

There was a pretty, intelligent, and interesting young lady that I met when I was 19 that I should have been more serious about and NOT let her slip away.

I should have played more baseball when I was younger. And realized the potential for tennis sooner. I should have started 1st grade one year later than I did - I was always too mature, even in high school - a strange, but important regret.

Talking about regrets is like being in a "shrinks" couch.

Don't regret anything. I've had an amazing life, enjoyed my 3 very different careers, traveled the world, volunteered around the world, built schools, teachers houses, homes for the poor, clinics, trade schools in 3rd world countries, met several world leaders, adopted some amazing children, had 2 mostly wonderful marriages, widowed now, have great relationships with all my now adult children, have 4 grandchildren who love me and who I love dearly. I honestly wouldn't change a thing. I've learned so much in living life to the fullest. I'm sure that when the next phase comes it will be just as amazing.

Through all of the mistakes that I made (and I made lots of them!), I learned something from which I could build a better life. Could I have had more money? Perhaps, but I have all that I need to travel and enjoy life. Did my first wife cause lots of pain and agony? Yes, but it has made me appreciate my current wife that much more. If I hadn't made those mistakes, I wouldn't be where I am now - a life filled with joy, laughter, and fun.

Oh here's a regret, I forget I have it usually but it would've been a life-changer:

I regret not going to Spain when I had the opportunity during high school, because I had a "thing" for a guy who was with my best friend at the time and was hoping he'd end up with me that summer.

I totally should've gone to Spain. My "best friend" and her man broke up a couple of days before their wedding a year later, and I found a better guy when I met the man who has been my husband for the past 30 years anyway.

If you're still alive and functioning you can still make a difference in life. It's never too late to start, but you have to make the choice to get out there and make a difference. Your life will be all the richer for it.
You won't regret it.
