Village of St. Catherine

We are looking at lots and thinking about building. Most building sites are in St Catherine now. Just wanted to know how you all feel about being so far away from town squares. We are renting now and have driven around all of the new areas, but not sure about that area. I’d appreciate your thoughts! Pluses and minuses? Thank you!

As a full time resident since 2014, living near a town square is moot. In fact the only time we go is when company is in town, so we can show them. We much prefer to enjoy our pool, golf occasionally, and do other activities that don’t involve visiting a town square.

Thank you!You'll be just seconds away from Sawgrass Grove which is a mini town square. Even Brownwood is only a few minutes away. Several golf courses just minutes away.

Magnolia Plaza is opening soon and it's just a few minutes away.

In a couple of years you'll have a 400 acre medical complex just across the turnpike.

In 10 years St. Catherine is going to be the midpoint of The Villages.

We love having LSL within walking distance. But that is our opinion.

We are in Bonita which now is the middle of the villages and fairly close to two town squares.

However it is what is important to you not to the rest of us.

In a few years there will be so much to do down here that you won't know where to begin. St. Catherine is a great choice and by the time your home is built and you move in there will be full connectivity to the northern villages if you choose to go up there. Also, it's a short drive east on 470 to get to shopping and restaurants in southern Leesburg and beyond and easy access to the 470 Turnpike exchange. You can probably get to Orlando in 45 minutes.

yes, what that poster said. it may not be here YET, but it will not take long. in 3 years we witnessed the entire community going up, & were amazed @ how fast the workers are, doing an excellent job. depends on where you are, but the plaza we use now is lake deaton, aprox 4mi from home. when out & about i prefer lake sumter because of location & people enjoying life. brownwood is great for shows, but space CAN be limited-get there early..

For us the closest square is 20 minutes, the next 30 minutes and the 3rd is 60 minutes. We love the squares and go as often as we can for the music, the stores and the food. We visit each 2-3 times a week. The farmers market is nice and I hope that market nights and the craft fairs return soon. So much fun there.

There are plenty of restaurants, shops and ways to listen to music that don't involve having to go to a square. Town Squares are fine, but for my wife and I, they're not a priority. Much like some people who move to The Villages who don't golf.

Although we live very close to Brownwood, it had absolutely no bearing when we purchased our home.

Being close to a square was not that important to use either as the further we are the more golf cart time we have, it is all about the miles with us. We do enjoy sitting back and listen to certain bands. Probably the only music for us down here. Have a good one.
