If it’s an MVP Allstar model, the learn mode is a small opening in the indoor wall mounted buttons by your door to the house.

The Allstar MVP is not compatible with a lot of the accessories sold. This gives Romac a lot of business.

What accessories am I missing? What do you need besides a keypad and remotes for cars?

Many (most) villages garage door openers are this AllStar MVP (at least where I live). The picture provided is for this model, but I assume other vendors might have a similar very small hole. You put in a paperclip to start the learn mode. Lights on the motor unit usually flash to signal you have entered. For an MVP to work with an external keypad, I am sure you need to purchase their model. I got mine from Amazon search on "Allstar 110927 MVP Wireless Keypad". Also, Ace Hardware probably has them.

OP, please state which make/model of garage door opener you have as the are major differences between manufacturers and as noted above different manufacturers usually do NOT work interchangeably. The MVP units appear to be completely proprietary. I could not even get these to work with garage door opener built into my car....

Key pad, remotes, My Q, Home Base in the car.

Key pad, remotes, My Q, Home Base in the car.

I’ve got a keypad, remotes and have synced to my vehicles built in opener. I have no desire to have My Q or any WiFi controller access.

By the way, what is Home Base for a car?

Actually Home Link, the buttons on the rear view mirror that can be programed to do things like open garage doors.

I think that LEARN button is on the garage opener motor housing ...

Spent 3 hours with hubby one afternoon programming it after purchasing another clicker. I would’ve paid $$$$ to have someone do it for us! Ridiculous.

The learn button is normally on the back of the motor. You may need to take the light shield off to get to it. You’ll need a ladder to access it.

I have used my HomeLink on 5 different kinds of openers and never had a problem until the MVP. I'll have to try again.

Do you know what year your actual garage door opener is?

The vehicles I've linked the opener to have worked flawlessly, by holding the remote close to the vehicles HomeLink buttons. I've never had to set any DIP switches or button positions

Found brand specific instructions on the HomeLink page and after I quit trying, went back in the car and hit the button and it worked.

See Post #2 for a photo. Don’t forget, briefly push the paperclip to enter learning mode. The garage door opener light will flash. If you depress the button too long, it will clear all codes.

My Pacifica just needs you to hold a programmed remote next to the buttons on the visor and press the visor button you want to program and the remote button that operates the garage door at the same time until the led on the visor stops flashing and then it is programmed.

Bingo. Same with three vehicles I’ve linked them with. Very easy to do.

The LEARN button is on the unit that's installed in the ceiling of your garage. There will probably be some wiring connections and maybe an antenna wire in the same location as the LEARN button...

MVP does not have rolling codes like most modern openers. One of the least secure openers.

There was another step in the Home Link instructions for my car. After the led is solid press the HomeLink button 3 times.

This is likely to be the manual for your MVP AllStar garage door opener. <https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.aclickawayremotes.com %2Fcontent%2Fallstar_110925.pdf>

It is still a good remote. I have had mine 12 years and never had a problem, so what's wrong with Romac, except if you need service. Too long to wait.

The AllStar garage door opener is extremely loud. First signs of trouble I'm switching it out for a Liftmaster.
