Am I doing something wrong? At 6 a.m. today when their website said appointments were available, there were no clickable boxes. Am I on the wrong page or what? This is where I was trying: COVID-19 Vaccine in Florida | Publix Super Markets (https://www.publix.com/covid-vaccine/florida)

No you are doing everything right. They changed their system, you have to wait for the page to refresh and put you into a queue...which apparently NEVER HAPPENS

If you get into the site, you need to scroll down past the list of counties and click on "book appointment", then select your county, date, and time.

I had 2 computers running. One I never hit refresh and I was able to get in on it. I made one appointment and then went back and made another. Both at Mulberry on Monday. The other computer, where I had used the refresh several times, is still waiting.
The book appointment box shows up at the bottom of the list of counties.
Both computers are Windows with Chrome for a browser.

Same problem. There are many software systems that can cope with thousands of users at one time. So far, none of the ones used by any vaccination site has worked well except Global Medical Response. They did such a good job, their vaccine supply was shut off!

According to Publix, they are severely limiting entry into the system to keep the system “stable”. I would suggest going to have breakfast at TooJay’s and perhaps when you get home you might see some activity.

55 minutes....still waiting....must have been filled within 5 minutes. Can't they change the status to ALL FILLED instead of APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE once the slots are all full???

I think you're right, but how about showing the status of the queue. If I knew I was number 3,500, I would just give up!

Perhaps, but good luck with that. I was able to book an appointment for someone immediately after 6 AM this morning.

They do. When the website refreshes every minute, the "appointments available" changes to "fully booked" next to the county name as the appointments fill up.

Unless you want to travel more than 300 miles, all Publix appointments are booked. The next scheduling time is Wednesday, Jan 27, at 6 AM.

If you try on the 27th, keep the page open, keep waiting for it to refresh, keep waiting for it to say appointments can be scheduled then immediately scroll down to book appointment...finally at 6:30 it opened and I was able to get in for Sunday. Hope this helps

I sat with two computers doing a refresh until they were both put in the Que and automatic refresh from the website started working. After an hour one of the computers went to a screen to request an appointment. I filled out all the information requested and finally got to a screen that gave me sites in Marion county that were available, I chose one then it showed times available, I chose a time and then selected the finished and not a robot and it then told me that was not available, after it had said it was available. It then sent back to fill half my information over again and came up to the location and then time. I chose another one that it said it was available, then it says not available. What a joke. This is my third time getting on at 6 am and finally at 7:30 nothing available. Publix website is not worth it!

I went thru this process earlier in the week and got thru. You are on the right page, but the website does not make those individual counties as "active links." As the page refreshes (every minute), eventually the message at the top will change to read something different (like, now slots are available to book appointments). Then you scroll down to bottom of page and the link will be there (BOOK APPOINTMENT). After you click on that, you will be redirected to another web page where you choose your county, etc.
You get another chance on the 27th I think. System is set up nicely, once you get in that is.

The book appointment box is new? The other poster said the box pops up when your turn comes up. Neighbor said all the locations said "Appointments Available" and they sat there waiting.....could not find a book appointment box. Hmmmm.

No. The "appointments available" message will display next to the county name while you are in the queue to tell you which counties are not fully booked. But, you cannot access the "book appointment" selection until you are moved out of the queue. When that happens you will get a message and then you need to scroll down past the county names to the "book appointment" selection and click on it. It is somewhat confusing because it appears as if you can click on the county name and book an appointment even when you are still in the queue.

I signed on at 6am this morning and let the page refresh itself. At 7;20am I saw the page said to make an appointment. I did so and the clicked ‘make another appointment” and was able to make one for my SO. Both are in Daytona Beach, as by the time I was able to make our appointments, that was all that was available. Worth the drive. Both appointments are for Wednesday.

I got my vaccine last week. You go inside and the pharmacist gives you the shot. I didn't see anyone else getting the shot. Very easy, no waiting.

Two of my neighbor friends are driving to the Pubix at Fort Walton Beach after finally being able to get an appointment-a five hour drive each way.
My wife just successfully booked at the Orlando Convention Center for January 29, followed later by second shot. Two other neighbors are doing the same. The software being used by Orange County and CDR Health Pro works very well and does not "choke" when throngs of people are on the site. It does speed things up if you create an account ahead of time and then wait for vaccinations to open as they have vaccine.
I received my first from Global Medical Response and am waiting to see if second shot appointment will happen. As more people leave the area and find vaccine, I am concerned whether GMR will return. They did an excellent job, but were not supported by the State. After all of the PR and marketing for the site, the State just let it fold.
It is an abysmal failure in the health system when so many Villagers are having to drive longer distances for the vaccine. It will become more tragic for our oldest seniors who cannot access the internet and drive an hour or more to be vaccinated.

I went on yesterday morning at about 6:30 and got an appointment for Monday. Unfortunately, it's in Deland but I don't mind the one hour drive. I've never been to Deland. I also have been booked for a second dose on Feb 22.
I think that if I had gotten on earlier I might have gotten an appointment closer.

The next day to sign up for appointments is January 27 and this is the website. When you first go on, it might say that it is busy and will be refreshed every minute. You have to hang in there and wait until it opens up. Once it does, you might not get an appointment close by but it seems that they are all within an hour's drive.

This is the most absurd situation. I have not been able to get in even after knowing a little about my phone and the computer and feel sorry for those of us who have flip phones and don’t have a computer and then they don’t even include pharmacies in our area! I tried two separate days with no luck so about to give up!

GMR has a great website. At least they did not require you to be tied to your computer for what I've read, up to 2 hours and then be shut out. People were waiting to be contacted by GMR via either email or text message (which ever was chosen when they registered). GMR had it together until their vaccine supply was exhausted. Hope Sumter County can handle all those GMR appointments with those folks in line for their 2nd shots a priority.

My wife and I went in yesterday morning to try and make an appointment. We were both on our phones at 5:55 AM. Nothing. At about 6:20 AM, I made the mistake of going to another website ( not Publix), thinking the Publix site would stay in my background. But I lost the site, had to go back in and get in line.... again..... thought I made a big mistake.....but.....after a minute, it told me I could book an appointment!!!!! My wife waited for 60 minutes, never getting a chance to even try and book an appointment. Oh yes, all of the appointments were taken when I tried about 6 different locations.
Dreadful system..... order in line means NOTHING!!!!
Any tips would be appreciated.

This is a very inefficient system for the "user(s)". Governor DeSantis should be required to get up at 5:30am and sit in front of a computer screen for 2 hours and watch the screen "refresh" every time Publix has a scheduling window. If he had to waste his time, like we are having to waste our time, perhaps he would insist on a more efficient process.

When the site go's active at 6AM there will be a 60 second count down indicator (in red) towards the top of the page. That indicator will refresh every 60 seconds. Don't worried about the rest of the page/pages while that counter is active. If you are chosen that counter will disappear. At that point scroll down the page until you see a box that says make appointment. Click on that box. Once you are asked to pick a county and store, do not choose the first store or time in the county you want, you and a few dozen others may have clicked on the same store and time. You are then in a race to see who finishes the information first. (human nature is to pick the first store and time you see). Go into the county a few stores down and an hour or so in, you will be less likely to get bounced out too choose another store.
I have made four appointments in the last three sessions. Good luck.

If you are willing to drive and want to increase your chances of success you might try Publix in the panhandle.
The panhandle counties have already vaccinated 30% to almost 50% of their residents over age 65. Since there are a smaller percentage of locals needing their first shot those appointments probably are available longer on the app.
In Sumter, Lake County, Marion, and all those counties to the west we are at 20% or less of seniors already having their first shot. With close to 80% competing for appointments it is going tough.
South of us only Orange and Palm Beach counties are at 30%, and I’m not sure Publix is doing the vaccines there.
