Anyone know of any piano bars in the Villages?
Google only listed those in Orlando and a forum search didn’t turn up anything.
Thanks for any input.

Funny you should say that. I’ve had a blast at the sing along piano bars on cruise ships and that’s exactly what inspired me to ask about them here!

Hadn’t really thought of it before, but seems like it would be a no-brainer for TV.

Since we moved here in 2012, we have been suggestung to various restaurants that they consider a piano bar, even if only one night a week. No one has shown any positive inclination to do so. I would think Waterfront, Chop House, and Nancy Lopez would be great choices. But, there is no quiet atmospheric dining anywhere in TV either, and the 2 would seem to go hand in hand.

Not me. Not crazy about the Villages karaoke vibe - in a sterile room with people sitting at desks.

I wonder why that is. There’s power in numbers. If enough of us ask for one, I bet it will happen. The Waterfront Inn would be perfect!
We tend to frequent piano bars on cruise ships. I'd be delighted to see one in The Villages.

Just before covid shut the world down, one of the clubs we belong to had an evening of dueling pianos,''
Was actually keyboards but still a nice thing to attend.

Well, it’s not in the Villages, and not technically a piano bar, but anyone would really enjoy the music, food/drinks and atmosphere of The Keep Downtown, formerly the Ocala Wine Experience, on 1st Avenue. Maybe after Covid, you can hire Uber, or a bunch of friends go up there for a great evening. There are some nice B&B around that area too so you don’t have to drive home afterwards. And, no, i am not affiliated with them. Just really think that place is special.

Yes, I wouldn't mind seeing Schroeder playing from peanuts and Snoopy dancing on top would be kind of cool also

Closest we came I think was Main St. Bistro in SS ...We used to love that place and it was a regular stop on the way home from anywhere else we had been - one chap on an electric keyboard and he sang as well - there was a tiny dance floor and the atmosphere was great ...don't know why it closed ...it was where Ay Jalisco is now.

Now there is a good question. Why is there no quiet atmosphere dining in The Villages?

There is a piano playing at The Oaks on Friday and Sat. evening with dinner. It is very nice. It is a great way to relax and enjoy a great dinner.

redsauce restaurant in LSL would book the Dueling Pianos every few weeks. Not sure they are still doing gigs with the pandemic raging. Contact redsauce's owner to see if he will book them again in the near future. Some clubs have booked them too. Too bad the Rec News stopped publishing future club notices.
Great fun!

Lovely thought. I fear the piano bar doesn't make enough money to pay the high rent in TV ... so it would have to be outside and I don't know of one. Love the ones on the cruise ships. Wonderful topic. Good feelings.

Not exactly a piano bar but this Restaurant has Joe, The Villages piano club president playing on weekend nights.

It's definitely not a bar but The Rose Plantation in Fruitland Park has a live piano player (and he's very good) on Friday and Saturday nights.

Would think that if you add a cover charge and sell food and drink it could work.

I think many here are confusing piano bar with dueling pianos. There is a HUGE difference.

If you are looking for an upbeat dueling piano type show, there is a new duo playing at various places around TV. Their website is The Big Bad Live! – Professional Entertainment for Any Event (http://www.thebigbad.live). They are absolutely the best entertainers I have seen here. All request shows. Make sure to bring cash to tip them, you'll want to.
Their schedule is there. They will be at Glenview tomorrow evening 5-8.

Anybody ever heard Perry Grant on one of their cruises signing and playing the piano? He would be great here in the Villages.
A piano bar. People packed together, singing away. ;) coronavirus anyone?

Point taken. I’m asking for when the virus passes. Or an outdoor piano bar.

As long as these pianists don’t play Piano Man, I’m game.
On cruises, I used to always chat with the pianists about repertoire. Every one of them would complain Piano Man was requested three times a night on average. Don’t Stop Believing was second most requested. Then Sweet Caroline (of course) and Benny and the Jets.

Red sauce restaurant in Lake Sumter used to have dual piano players. I’m not sure since Covid arrived.

These songs work so well in a piano bar that the player has to suck it up and play them or on a ship will be a very quiet room.
Good ones will change some of the words especially late at night

Very quiet room? After those four are out of the way is when the good stuff is played. Well, except for New York New York.

Been here 23 yrs. No piano bar. Waterfront..might want to talk to the management there. All bars in the Villages are part of Restaurants. Most have entertainment but no piano. Good luck.

Check Garvinos schedule. They may have a piano player once in awhile.
Would like to see a piano wine bar in The Villages, too.

We also really like the piano bars on cruise ships. Those piano players are amazing. They can play anything. Done right there are 2 players feeding off each other and are very entertaining when they interact with each other and the audience. I got a feeling this wouldn't work during COVID since your so close to the pianos but I hope someplace is working on one after COVID. Come to think of it how about reopening another Kattie Bells. I had to throw that in. We sure miss that place and a good venue there might be dueling piano players one or 2 evenings.
Any others think the Villages closing the unique 2 story resident nightclub Kattie Bells was the Villages biggest mistake and they should reopen one in Brownwood.
