When you woke up your first morning here, and realized your dream had come true.....what were some of the first things you felt like you should, or needed, to do? Was it going to the grocery store, Walmart, or Lowe's? Was it to go to the town square and sit there looking like you belonged? Was it a trip to buy a golf cart?? Did you get in the car and just drive around to the different areas? Or, was it to the pool where you just kicked back and realized you were here!!!!!

We woke up the first morning and decided to have coffee on the lanai. 2 problems, no chairs for the lanai and no coffee pot. We had a dilemma...do we go out and buy a coffee pot or do we play golf? It was a no brainer...played a round at Palmer and bought the coffee pot about a week later. The chairs xame eventually.

I rolled over and started to hug Sweetie. He was missing and then he arrived beaming with a steaming cup of coffee for me. Then Helene plopped on our bed and we all drank coffee, smiling at each other and then our neighbor came knocking. She has visited us every morning about seven almost every day since we bought the house.

We love company.

We were snowflakes, so we proceded to run around doing everything in 1 week. After a year we bought a golf cart and that's when we felt like real Villagers. 5 years later we still think we are in a dream.

We slept in our recliners that first night. Woke up at 7am the next morning to our new bedroom set being delivered. Then logged onto the computer to get my TOTV fix for the day.

We had to patch a window in the living room broken by an errant golf ball. Ahh life is good.

We're snowflakes. First visit after purchase, we golfed, golfed, golfed. Second visit, purchased a cart on the way down, before we even stopped at the house. When it was delivered, we were excited to drive it. First stop, grocery store. We were too excited to consider that we needed a week's work of groceries and supplies. Drove the few blocks home from the store with the basket stacked high with groceries, grocery bags on the floor board, grocery bags in the seat between us. We felt like... rookies.

I have a confession. January will make one year we have owned in TV. I still don't have a range. The one that came with the house was old and in need of repair.

I told our painters to get rid of it for me. We ordered new appliances. The new range came with a huge dent in the top. We refused delivery. We are coming down next week for a much needed rest. My husband is insisting that I get my new range this trip. I'm thinking a new gas grill and a crock pot sounds reasonable. Confession is good for the soul.

In order to get to our first morning, we had to make an evening emergency run to Target upon arrival for air mattresses for us in Caroline and my mom who was closing on her new house in Sabal Chase. Neither of us had a moving van arriving soon. Ours had been delayed and my mom's stuff was in storage in Orlando. Once up and about, we went over to do the closing on my mom's house to get her keys. Then it was off to Circuit City to get the mandatory big screen TV. So, there we were in our empty house with a big TV in the box sitting all by itself in the living room.

The range in our house is 18 years old and I'll bet it hasn't been used 100 hours in the entire time. (not in TV)

Thanks for all replies. These are great. It is always interesting how different people have different priorities, and react to being a Villager!!! If anyone tried to bring me a cup of coffee at 7am, they would just have to sit in the living room and watch TV. :) Just kidding, but I think it is great that that one act has remained the same for so long-a real friendship. One of my goals when we get to TV is to start getting up earlier again. I had to be at work most of the time at 5am, 6am, or 7am for almost 30 years. When I got off work, my whole time system turned around. Now, I get up late and stay up late-need help changing that!!!! Thanks again
