Signed us both up this morning.

No idea how or if it is connected to what we previously signed up for but figured nothing to lose

Thanks for the posting information.

Maybe someone has finally figured out how to deal with establishing a common registration for FL residents.

We shall see......while we ...patiently...wait.

Here is a link to actual site where you can register.

MyVaccine (https://myvaccine.fl.gov/)

The site has been accepting registrations for at least 24 hours, and you must select a county (why?) but there is no explanation about how this information will be used to prioritize appointments. They say you will be notified when appointments become available at state-sponsored vaccination sites, but I thought all vaccination sites were state-sponsored? Very confusing.

Hubby signed up himself and me this morning. I already have an appointment for my second shot. My first was at the site on 466. There was no place on the registration page to give the information that I already have an appointment. I wonder how this is going to work for all those who already have an appointment for their second shot but must wait for notification from Sumter County that their appointment is still valid.

Not all sires are State Sponsored, some are County sponsored, and some are privately sponsored. Before we got our appointment I reviewed 4 County sites, the patientportalfl.com site, the publix site, and added the State site yesterday. I checked each site at least twice a day plus made sure I watched the channel 6 evening news at 11 since their coverage on what sites are open seemed pretty accurate. When they reported the Orlando Convention Center was going to take reservations this morning at 8 I logged on through the patient portal site and my wife and I had our first and second appointments by 8:15 and confirming emails and texts by 8:30. I started getting aggressive because in my mind waiting to be contacted by Sumter or GMR and fighting the Publix battle (ok, getting out of bed at 5:40 AM was the real issue :) )just wasn't working for us.

Why select a county? Because would you like them to just register you in Monroe County when a spot opens?

Possibly. Many people are going to other counties to get their vaccine. But this statewide website requires you to select only one county when you register. Does that mean that they will only contact you if an appointment is available in that county? If so, the system will be pretty useless to many Villagers.

By the time site information is passed around, the sites are closed down due to having run out of serum. One neighbor told me that she got hers at a Walgreens and another got hers at the Sears in Lake co. Both are closed for vaccinations now. I know that it will get easier as the supply becomes more plentiful, but right now most of the day is spent researching possible vaccine distribution locations, that seem to close up by the time you discover them. I've put us on every list I can find, on line and by phone but I don't expect any notification of an appointment. The saying "patience is a virtue" is definitely being proven a valid statement today.
Good luck locating a source for your vaccinations.

I signed up twice on this site yesterday and I think the day before. I called the phone number and signed up on that the last two days. I can’t believe someone signed up this morning and got an appointment. I could write a book on how I am missing appointments

I can certainly relate to that. Even when I find out in advance I can’t get selected. I even take the phone everywhere I go

Please explain. What does state-sponsored mean? I thought the vaccine was being distributed to the states from the Federal Government, not directly to the counties. Does the state have separate vaccination locations that are different from the county vaccination locations? Is Publix a state-sponsored program? If so, why isn't this statewide website prioritizing and scheduling the vaccine appointments at Publix? Why does the statewide site require you to select only one county? Very confusing.

When I fill out the information and hit the tab Get in Line it just stays there. Is it suppose to take you somewhere else?

You may have missed entering information in one of the blocks (like FLORIDA RESIDENT, for example, you have to select that in that box). Look for a box that has a red rectangle around it.

We also signed up. I do wonder, how many people are listed on multiple lists.
How many people will after getting their shot will, or even can cancel all the lists they are on.

People, I keep thinking about the movie Titanic. The band played on. Women and children first, in this case pre-existing conditions first. On the Titanic SOME men said
I am more important. I do have a legitimate pre-existing condition. None of the lists even ask. I am not aware of a single person wondering should I in good health allow someone else to get a shot. Not sure if I would either. It is far easier to justify what someone, other than me, should do.

Perhaps, like most things. People are in a panic. Criminals see it as an opportunity.
My wife registered both of us. If, it is not valid, they got your e-mail, your cell your age etc etc etc etc. I'm not saying it is fake but......... I recently contacted a posting for US XXXXX and it said free. Tired, or????? before they start they ask for your credit card information. I figured to cover postage. No post showed what they were charging.
They showed a video, which was of no value as I already had it. They charged me $100+. I called, it was a boiler room. They offered to refund half. I refused.
Took a bit of effort but I contacted my credit card and as I had printed all of it.
They handled it for me and I got all of my money back.

Point do not panic. Be wary of who or what you are sending your information to.

Getting on the list. Hum, perhaps they should keep track of how many times we have gotten up at 5:30 to sit at our computer from 6-7 to discover they have allocated the vaccine to others. Fair? What is fair? Far too many people want a shot and there are far too few shots available. I with a valid pre-existing condition have not been able to get a first shot. Reasonable? Imagine you finally get an appointment, drive ????? 50-100 miles and get there to be told OOPS WE ARE OUT OF VACCINE.
