I'm interested in getting back into tennis after a 30+ year layoff. I understand that there is "masters tennis" in TV, but I have not been able to locate who is in charge of this and how it is different than regular tennis. Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Checked out GLENVIEW Tennis Club today.(352-753-1317) - Very pleasant to talk to, lots of doubles, but I'm looking for men's singles!

You will find few groups by looking in rec guide or tennis reservations. If you find group, go there at that time see if it’s open or they are accepting new member’s. I know of two on Saturday around 9am. At fishhawk and Chatham rec center tennis courts.

I hit will guy in afternoons 3 or 4 times week at 4 or higher level. You welcome to play singles with us if you live in northern parts or willing to drive? I know of two singles groups south of 466a. Look in rec guide see if they are still playing on Wednesday and Saturday?

Thanks TopSpinMo for the invitation but you don't say where? Driving isn't a problem. I was a '4+' - Not sure where I am now, but I don't think I improved with age!!

As I understand it, Masters tennis is the same as regular tennis except the games are "no-add" and whoever wins 6 games first is the winner, i.e., you do not have to win by at least two games, so it could be 6-5.

We usually play at Chatham rec and sometimes at saddlebrook. VHS right now had Chatham 4 courts reserved from 1:30 to 5:30 PM M-F. We Also play on Saturday’s and Sunday in afternoons, if 3 or more we play sudden death to 4 so oddball guy not out very long. Usually just the two of use we drill also. If interested be glad to have you? also play doubles sometimes also.
