This is simply a Public Safety Announcement encouraging people not to drive their golf carts through the entrance/exit gates at Marsh Bend behind Magnolia plaza. I’ve witnessed three occurrences in as many trips over the past week. The latest was this evening and the golf cart using the entrance gate created a hazardous and potentially dangerous situation.

Admittedly, the area can be somewhat busy and the golf cart owners may have missed the signs stating that golf carts aren’t permitted on Marsh Bend Trail on the outside of the gates at Marsh Bend.

On every occasion that I have seen a golf cart using the gates, they entered Marsh Bend Trail from the access driveway behind Magnolia plaza. I prefer to believe that folks are just curious about the Publix progress and simply didn’t know any better. After all, the roadway at the gates into and out of DeSoto/Fenney are shared between golf carts and cars. It stands to reason that a golf cart driver might assume the same for Marsh Bend.

Again, just a PSA encouraging folks to keep an eye out for signs and be careful in that area. Publix opens in a couple of weeks and I expect a significant increase in golf carts going to/from Magnolia plaza. I wouldn’t want anyone to get hurt or get a ticket from the Wildwood police.

Well just to educate you, the sign stating "NO GOLF CARTS BEYOND THIS POINT" is just after the rear entrance to Magnolia Plaza and is BEYOND the gates. I had an interesting conversation with an older gentleman who proceed to inform a group of us that carts were not allowed beyond the gate. He just kept arguing with me about carts going through the gates, even as I pointed out that the sign was indeed PAST THE GATE. As a line of carts and cars started to line up behind us a got out of my cart to "talk" to him and Mr. Iknoweverything sped off. Could this be you?

No, it's just YOU that didn't know any better. Starting to get p!ssed at the amount of people here that try to inform you when in fact they are the uninformed.

I am not surprised to hear about the hazardous situation along Marsh Bend Trail.

When we first drove thru there a couple years ago, we knew it was going to turn into a zoo. We go down there a lot because we love the Marshview golf course, Edna's, and walking Hogeye. The whole place is absolutely beautiful.

Will somebody down there post a pic that shows the location of the sign. I never noticed with my cart being North of 44.

Everyday at some gate somewhere in TV, someone drives thru the gate instead of turning on the golf path. Some have gone into the round about.

Most of the time it’s just a distracted, driver. Pretty normal since we came here in 07.

That's not the case here. The OP is incorrect on the cart boundary at Magnolia.

I drove out of Marsh Bend this morning and realize that I am indeed wrong about golf carts going through the Marsh Bend gate to get to Magnolia. My apologies and thanks to all posters for the lesson. Moderator, feel free to remove this post.

Here is a view of the rear entry/exit at the west end of Magnolia Plaza.

It also is the end where the new Willy Jewel's BBQ will be.

I expect additional signage is warranted at the exit. Cars can go right or left, but golf carts should only turn left here, and pass thru the Marsh Bend Trail gates.
