Hello -
New to the areas -
Where is Groveland Vaccine Center ?
Is Groveland offering second Pfizer shot if the first vaccine shot was received at a different location ?
Are appointments necessary ?
What paperwork is required to receive the second shot ?
If patients just show-up, what time is suggested ?
Thanks

The shot site is 7453 Republic Drive in Groveland, Florida. It is first come first serve. Don't know if they will give you your second shot if your first shot was given someplace else but bring your documentation/card from your first shot in any case. It is the Pfizer vaccine. I am planning on arriving at 5:30 AM today for my second shot since I don't want to be disappointed.

Please, let us know if you were successful at Groveland....there has been some confusion about that site being open or closed...TIA

Did Groveland give shots out for 2nd shots when you went there today. Send me an instant message tonight or tomorrow morning of possible.

It seems that this is being handled very poorly by whoever is doing it at the Groveland site.
I got both of my shots at Publix. I went online and got an appointment. I was taken right on time and didn't have to wait in line for hours. I didn't have to get up at 4:00 am in order to get in line.
Also, when I was given my first shot, I was given a card with the date and time for my second shot. I showed up at that time and again was taken right on time.
I agree, it was difficult for many to get an appointment and I was one of the lucky ones, but I rather sit in front of my computer in my pajamas for an hour or so as opposed to getting up at 4:00am and driving an hour to wait in line for an hour not knowing whether I was going to get the shot and then having to do the same thing again three or four weeks later.
I have a friend that ended up in Clermont. After she waited in her car for over two hours, she was informed that they had run out of the vaccine and she would have to come back and wait in line again.
I do know that we have six to ten times as many people trying to sign up for the vaccine each time a shipment is sent so the odds of getting one are not good. But as I said, I'd rather sit in front of my computer for a few hours than drive and wait in line only to find that I'm not getting a shot.
And why would you have to do the same for your second shot? It should be held and scheduled once you've had your first one. What if you keep going back for your second shot for week or months? Would the first one lose it's efficacy?
Publix is doing it right. The whole state should be on that system.

Has anyone had experience with obtaining their second Pfizer vaccine shot @ Publix although they never received their first shot @ Publix ?

Just got back from Groveland. There was a sign saying that only second shots were being given. Arrived there at 5:30 AM and waited on Independence Road for about 45 minutes for the line to start moving. Saw a few cars that were sent away. ( I assume that they were trying to get their first shot.) Everything went smoothly and we were on our way out at 7:55 AM. When we left, the line extended a ways down Route 27/441. BTW, the recorded phone call that I received last night said that shots were being given from 8 AM to 11 AM. Glad I got there early. Hope this helps.
