They are probably March 1st renters that arrived a day early and are waiting to unload and then put their motorhomes in storage. Most of the regional rec. centers allow overnight parking of motorhomes, rental trucks, etc. They usually give you a permission slip to put in the windshield.

There are probably more cars leaking oil than those motorhomes, most of them look fairly new. They won't crack the blacktop, many RV parks have blacktop pads to park on and they seem to hold up very well.

I see this every time the Villages has some sort of craft or art show, most of the vendors travel by RV and overnight in the parking lots.

Nice first post. Are you a Villages Resident?

I'd rather see the RV'S parked there than blocking up a neighborhood that is tight to maneuver around in already.

Welcome to The Villages you will fit in just fine.

I'll wager the second from the end on the right rig in photo #2 cost more brand new than some of the houses in The Villages!

If I had the money to own one of those, I surely would have the money to part the RV in a proper storage facilities.
Yes, could be an overnight thing, but then it's not my lot to tell them to get off.

I think one of the RV storage places is getting their lot re-paved,so the RVs needed to move someplace temporarily.
I’m going with they got permission and didn’t randomly park their RVs in the rec center parking lot.

Nomad land! Oil leaking & all that weight cracking the blacktop

Seriously? Oil leaking? We’ve had 5 motor homes and not one of them leaked any oil or transmission fluid. And weight cracking the blacktop? Highly unlikely.

The Villages RV storage facility off Rolling Acres Rd is being repaved. All tenants had to remove their units by February 28th and park elsewhere for the month of March, when the work is expected to be done. So RVs in driveways and parking lots will disappear at the end of the month.

I suspect it's due to The Villages resurfacing their RV/Storage area behind the Wood Shop;we took our motorhome to our Father-in-Laws 34 miles south to store on an RV pad at his home until they finish; The Villages gave us permission to park in front of home, but we won't do that as it may take up to 28 days to resurface the area

They RV storage facility is being repaved so they made arrangements to let us park at various recreation centers. It will be back to normal in a couple weeks.

How much do these RVs weigh and to have them concentrated in one area on blacktop designed to park automobiles.. if the Parking lot was intended to be a RV PAD then no worries, BUT these people will be long gone when we foot the price for repairs! As always no one gives a rats tail of the future costs...RV PADS are at least 6 inches thick concrete

I will have visitors in April that come in an RV but want to park it for 5 days & stay with us, then pick up the RV and go back home. Is there a place for short time RV parking? Would love a phone number, thanks.

As ex RVers we have stayed at many luxury & upscale RV parks and think it would be a great idea for The Villages to have one. Maybe over by Lake Okahumpa or somewhere like that. It would be a great opportunity to introduce visitors to the beauty and amenities in the area. Great for our RV friends for a visit as well.

They are parked all over The Villages because they are black topping the storage facility.

So they decided to pave the RV storage facility when it was time for the snowbirds to return home with their RV's, who makes these decisions! :ohdear:

I believe that one of the RV Storage lots is closed for repairs/updates or something so the District has approved alternate parking for those vehicles

Don't quote me. :)

 Could be..... if they decide to repave the RV storage lot every month or so! :undecided: Which I doubt.

Sorry folks, all you posters are going to need something else to worry about today. Move along..... nothing to see here.

I wonder if RV storage facilities not affiliated with TV were to re-pave if TV would make special arrangements and allow those RV owners to park on the streets violating the deed restrictions. Our RV storage facility was power washing the buildings and pads so they made arrangements within the facility for us to park in another area by doing it one or two sections at a time, they also did it in the summer when it wasn't full.

Technically they did make arrangements to allow them move within the villages facilities. They are still paying their storage fees and allowed to park on village’s property.
