THE VILLAGES vs SOLIVITA

We did a lifestyle visit to Solavita about 10 years ago.

All you have to do is go outside the Solavita community to realize this is not a safe place to visit or to live.
My first realization should have been it’s in Polk County.

Drive around outside the Solavita community & you’ll run for your life.

It is a real gated community, unlike The Villages. So there is someone there to make sure visitors belong there. But posters are correct, outside the gates it is a downtrodden neighborhood in many ways. And Solivita has only two golf courses, although they are really nice layouts. In fact one is designed by Clifton, Ezell and Clifton, the designers of most of The Villages courses.

We met a few ladies from Solivita on a cruise. They loved living there but did state that the surrounding area was not the best.

Ditto. We toured there and the surrounding neighborhood was scary enough.
Solavita is a nice neighborhood in and of itself, The Villages is a community/city with services.
