I see the question often, who is the best boxer of all time. Yes, Tyson was a powerhouse , Ali was an Artist, but in my opinion, Manny Pacquiao was the best boxer of all time

I agree with the order of the first 5 on this list.

the game has changed so much over the years that it's impossible to compare oranges to oranges

the challenge is coming up with the right normalized criteria...and it can't be done, as every era is different, every era fought and trained differently....just like every weight class is different.

Was Sugar Ray better than Jim Corbett? Could Tyson have gone up against Rocky Marciano when they were both in their prime?

that list of the 10 greatest boxers of all time is just one person's opinion....they don't know

what difference does it make...it's all conjecture based on BS

I can agree with you, except I think Marciano moves up and I always felt Ray Leonard needs to be on any list like this.

My dad was a professional boxer in the late 40’s early 50’s and he always told me that Sugar Ray Robinson was the best he ever saw

I some what agree, with this list but the problem with these lists is that you cannot compare generations. To me Ali was the greatest of all time as he could have fought in any generation. Early in his career he was the only boxer who would predict what round he would KO his opponent and then do it. He had the foot speed of a middle weight and the hand speed of a lightweight. As with many great athletes he stayed way past his prime. Howard Cosell once said he was purest total athlete he had ever seen. How he would do today again heavyweights that weight 260-270 and stand 6’8” tall who knows. I would put Manny Pacquiao second. A seven weight class champion, nothing more has to be said. One I would not put on that list is Floyd Mayweather. He was a great boxer with probably the best defensive skills I have ever seen in a fighter. My knock on him is he only fought the best when they were slightly past their primes. I still think Oscar De La Hoya beat him in their match. Finally, it is tough today to rate who is the best because there are to many championship belts in each division and the best rarely fight the best. For example Errol Spence is a great fighter, but his agents will not let him fight Terence Crawford, who to me is the better fighter but no one wants to fight him. The sport has been ruined by to much money and less than honest promoters.

Larry Holmes was Ali’s sparing partner. In their primes Ali would have beaten him hands down,

Marciano was never defeated, with 49 wins, 45 knockouts, and lost only one decision as an amateur, while knocking that fighter out in a later fight. Jim Jefferies undefeated, heavyweight Champ. Hammering Henry Armstrong, 3 world titles at the time when there were only 7 classes and seven world champions of the world. Archey Moore, more fights and knockouts than anyone in history, fought in 4 decades. Roberto Duran, most boxing historians believe at this prime he was the greatest fighter..ever.
