My group removed Havana from our rotation a month ago. It's a disgrace what they've allowed to happen to the greens there. On some holes on Kenya there are more weeds than grass, and there is an ugly green sandy substance all over them. They should shut down until they get it under control.

Funny you should mention that. My foursome just said we won't request it anymore. I'd rather go to Nancy Lopez 30 min away then Havana 12 min away. $64 dollars to play on some greens with little or no grass on them. Kilimanjaro, #5 huge area of green replaced, but unplayable. #6 putting on araes missing grass but not smooth with 1/4 to 3/8 in drops. Impossable to keep the ball on line or estimate speed. #7 an area in middle of green, replaced with new sod and soaking wet that will more then likely kill the sod. This hole, it can be seen by the stained grass ponds there when there are heavy rains and kills the green. No run off from that area and water isn't absorbed fast enough and kills that area. Seems like a drain or redesign of green to have run off is needed. That'a a fun hole to play too.

Because we the sheep keep paying excessive prices for subpar conditions and as long as anyone is willing to do so things will not change

Is it possible that they just aren't spending any money on these courses? Just try to hit a flop shot over a bunker to the pin off of the concrete. At least put some annual rye around the greens. When I moved here six years ago, they used to overseed everything but was told that was bad for the bermda. That is absolute horse hockey. It is also a bit frustrating to play nine holes and then wait for three foursomes to tee off before you can make the turn. My elbow is wrecked due to the rock hard conditions, so I just will not pay to play these any longer until the conditions improve. Sad. Also nice that they extended the Winter rates through May.

Before you comment on over seeding please do some research on the pros and cons of over seeding.

I posted many weeks ago that the greens at Havana were a disgrace. They have moved Ladies Day rotation off Havana, no one would sign up to play there. And yes the only way to get anything done about these things to to vote with our pocketbooks.
