I have several professional lenses for my camera and being in NYC, I've never had to worry about fungus growing in the lenses. However, since the heat and humidity in TV is a lot higher, does anyone have good suggestions for storage? The lenses are stored in Pelican cases.
Should I get a room dehumidifier and keep the equipment in that room? Use dessicant packs?
One thing I plan on doing is giving everything a "sun bath" 4 times a year so the UV-C in the sunlight kills anything that was thinking of growing.
Thanks!!
Kevin

You're good to go. Most electronics also have issues with dampness and mold/fungi, but the whole house dehumidifier does a great job as we have never had mold(etc)in almost 8 years. Still with optics I think that going the extra mile is good. I'd either call a local camera shop when you get here or you may get all your answers on the internet. Good luck.

I am not a camera expert, but I don't think a room dehumidifier is going to protect camera lenses from mold and fungus. Most houses don't have mold and fungus. Have you tried putting them in a plastic bag?

Drop a desiccant in the pelican case along with the equipment should be good to go

I've had a bunch L-Series Canon Lenses here for many years and no problem with mold. The A/C keeps the humidity down in the house.
What is a problem is in the summertime when you take your lens outside and the humid air hits them. The lens is relatively cold from being in the A/C in the house so they fog up. It can take a half-hour or more before they really clear up. The trick is to put the lens, in its case or Pelican, in the garage or car for an hour or so, so that its temperature can catch up to the outdoor temperature.

Is there a local camera shop? If so, can you tell us the name and location?

I have lived here for almost 11 years. Have two cameras and five lenses. I do not have a dehumidifier, as you air conditioning should take care of this. I have never had a problem with mold or fungus with my camera equipment.

Colonial Photo, 634 N. Mills Avenue, Orlando. Only photo shop in the area, excellent knowledge and service. I am the fire department photographer, camera equipment stays cased in my car 24/7. Have not had any issues yet. Had fungus in a Tamron lens soon after moving here from Virginia. Colonial diagnosed it. Sent it back to Tamron in the last week of 7 year warranty and they took care of it under warranty.

I used to sell photographic equipment. You should not store your equipment in a pelican case or any of the many knockoffs. Reason, your. home is air conditioned. You take your colder and dryer than the outside equipment,. you open your case to use your equipment and the moisture will condense on your equipment.
