My wife loves to line dance! For her, it's a great source of enjoyment and exercise. I tried one lesson at a rec center with her, and my "man instinct" told me that "this isn't right". I certainly didn't like it. The fact that so many women line dance and so few, and I mean absolutely so few men participate must tell you something. I'll bet that more men do needlepoint than linedance.

My wife loves line dancing.
I went to the first beginners class many years ago, got half way through something called 'The Stupid Shuffle' when my brain had a WT* am I doing here moment.
Never been back!

I'm lucky that my better half doesn't care for line dancing and even on our visits here, wasn't enticed to do it at the squares. I'm not so lucky that she likes classical ballroom dancing however. Although, after some lessons I can at least not embarrass myself, too much. We don't really go out that often to dance, so making her happy with doing it just once in a while - is but a small price to pay.

The real men are at home drinking beer after a tough morning on the pickleball courts. Then later they will be watching Archie Bunker reruns!

I loved the scene in the Keanu Reeves movie "The Replacements" when these big pro football type players line danced to the song, "I will survive". Classic.

But unless you're a big dude in a football uniform doing the electric slide to that song it's big time cringe worthy.
