There are hundreds of street names in The Villages and many streets are named in honor to those Villagers who made The Villages a great place to live. Understanding that The Villages is approximately 97% white, when will we see street names honoring those great black Villagers who also made The Villages a great place to live.

Just to name a few, Ethel Thomas, Michael Patrom or Walter Martin have all made The Villages a great place to live and deserve a street named after them. Also when will The Villages ever name a major street that honors our great black American citizen such as Dr. Martin Luther King, President Barack Obama or even Jimi Hendrix. It's time that the 97% of us pay respect to the 3% of our fellow residents and most importantly, our fellow friends.

How about this, The Villages name a street for a great leader, that person can be male or female of any race.

Other than Morse, I have never given any thought to any of the street names.

Why do people keep bringing up race stuff. I'm Macedonian and I'm not complaining because there is no Alexander the Great street. Also there is a Clarence Thomas street as well as MLK in Wildwood which most of us are part of.

Hmmm.. It seems someone's goal in life is to be the forum pot stirrer.. How many of these threads are you going to start? First it's "Villagers are obese" Then you want Dog poop DNA. Then golfers losing their mind. Let's not forget about the Villagers scam on stimulus checks. Now this. Do you go to bed at night thinking about what will get a reaction on the forum?

One day soon we will be naming streets in the Village of Stu and we are open to anything or anyone including our furry friends.

Who cares??? It's a street name, period. Name it 1st,2nd,3rd AVE. Name it Avenue A,B,C. Better to focus on the contributions of these people rather than a street name.

And I agree, the OP would seem to be intended to stir the pot.

As comedian Chris Rock once said on HBO,

"anyone who finds themselves lost on an MLK-named street, Run! Run! Run!, “Now what’s Martin Luther King? A street. And I don’t give a f**k where you are in America, if you on Martin Luther King Boulevard, there’s some violence going down.”

Who wants their street to be named Martin Luther King, not me! Tony Trussler TV sales associate for the past dozen years and sold me my home ten years ago and he's still going strong. He has a street named after him, and rightly so. What did MLK ever do for the TV?

I'm upset that no streets are named after Octavian, AKA, Caesar Augustus, the man who created the greatest Empire ever on this planet.
