Safely say right now that’s about one end of villages to other. I hope you didn’t drive all the way for pickleball? Courts was closed today for the non-cleaning.:icon_wink::):1rotfl:

Up hill both ways. Just like when I walked 2 miles to school in blizzard of 68. :icon_wink:

I'm pretty sure the relevant time would be driving forward not in reverse. I made it in an hour and 5 minutes. Legally of course.

Our golf cart will only go 19.9 MPH. The governor pushes the speed down as soon as it nears 20 MPH.

That would take me a long time to get done in a golf cart.

How fast could you do it backward?

There's a video on youtube, they started at Fenney Grill and finished at Orange Blossom, 19.8 miles, 1 hour and 15 minutes at 20MPH.

Next challenge: Citrus Grove and Ezell Rec Center to Mulberry.

After that, Village of Hammock water tower to Mulberry.

The center of The Villages continues to move southward... :icon_wink:

We live in LaBelle North. Going south to play some of the executive courses will be much quicker when the Southern Oaks bridge opens. The same will be true for those that live in some of the south Villages who want to play courses up north.

Thinking of going back to NYC by golf cart. Anyone want to drive us?

Would supply a months worth of snacks.

Very rarely would I even consider driving one hour in my car to go play golf. I sure wouldn't ride in my golf cart for one hour (each way) to play golf. Do many people actually ride that far in their golf cart to play golf? That sounds more like the Iron Butt Challenge to me.

What's weird about those below 44 playing golf courses in the north, is they must really like Bonifay better than the other two below 466A, Belle Glade and Evans Prairie.

I put in a foursome every week, none of us are priority members. Bonifay (Destin to Ft. Walton) is probably one of favorite 18s and it's been my first choice the last three weeks. I was 6 days in advance and requested 11:56 to 1:29. One week I had Evans Prairie (Osprey to Egret) as my second choice and last week we had Belle Glade (Calusa to Tequesta) which was my second choice again, both times I got the second choice.

What's with golfers not wanting to play Belle Glade or Evans Prairie but they really want to play Bonifay, because I can't get on. Please put in for BG or EP so I can get on Bonifay, or maybe go even further north to Palmer and Mallory you can get on. Havana being in such terrible condition and with (Kenya) closed, that eliminates one of my favorite choices. You new people, give Havana a try, you'll like it.

Here is Belle Glade, doesn't that look Great!!

They have people who do that. I saw a guy in a wet suit a couple of years ago driving a golf cart out of there and he must of had two duffle bag size mesh bags full of golf balls. I just played there Friday and you also will see more alligators and bigger alligators than anywhere else in TV.

They must get big from eating either golf balls or guys in wet suits.

In my golfing days had a very long scooper and never purchased golf balls.

It takes me about an hour to get to Brownwood and I look forward to continuing all the way to Fenney. Can’t wait to do it. I have been over 2 of the bridges and will get over the 3rd in a couple weeks.

Just as a "huh how about that?" kind of trivial trivia:

Those seated shopping carts at Publix move faster in reverse than they do forward.

This has been your daily trivia drive-through, sponsored by the letter M and the number 4.

Carry on.

I think the answer is probably maybe. Part of the drive is enjoying the outside, views and wildlife. Our group (usually 20 - 24) will drive to Glenview, Tierra del Sol without hesitation. Lopez might be a car and cart rental depending on the day. The key is having a cart with seats that don't require an Iron Butt. :)

Did the golf cart adventure today driving from Tall Trees to Fenney Grill. Beautiful day with the breeze blowing. There are no signs directing you to Fenney. Go over Brownwood and Water Lily Bridges. Drive south on Meggison golf cart trail past Magnolia Plaza. Take first right at roundabout to Corbin Trail(?) Take Corbin Trail to Fenney Way. Made a day of it with other couples. Stopped at Brownwood to stretch then had lunch at Fenney Grill. Returned over Water Lily to Chitty Chatty Bridge and stopped for yogurt at Peachwave on 466A. We were gone 6 3/4 hours but we were in no rush.

I don’t golf but easily ride 1, 2 or 6 hours in the golf cart. Sometimes with a place to go and sometimes just to drive to get lost. I bought in the Villages solely to put many many miles on the golf cart. An hour to the farmers market, 1/2 hour or hour for music, 2-3 hours just to drive the entire loop around the Villages. The more miles the better.

From my home in Tamarind Grove I can drive by car to Mulberry Plaza in 25 minutes and to Fenney in 25 minutes. That's called being centrally located.

By golf cart I can drive to 7 championship courses in 20 minutes (Belle Glade being the furthest) or less and the an 8th course (Glenview) in 25 minutes, and Lopez in 40 minutes. That's the whole reason I retired here was for the golf. If it weren't for that, I probably would of gone to Destin, Pensacola or somewhere in Pasco, Pinellas or Hernando Counties, near the beach to be exact.

TOTALLY agree!!! I was dead-set on retiring to a place near the gulf coast or panhandle, near the beach. Until, I discovered TV, and all the golf and activities. And I too found a place in the center, and have no desire to relocate. We took a cart ride to Edna's, haven't made it to Fenney yet. But, we did the loop around the SR44 bridges, and it was about 80mins, from our home in St James.

I spoke to one of these guys, when I was an Ambassador(they use our golf carts to take to the ponds. He said he's been bitten about a dozen times. Nothing critical! He just carries a stick and pokes it near the eyes, and they swim off! The greatest danger I witnessed, was him wading in a pond in front of a Par 3 green, with his back to the golfers teeing off behind him, and assuming they would all carry the water?!

I would do this again. I would like to check out Edna's by golf cart and also Sawgrass when it is completed. I am also one of those people who think why sit at home when I can go exploring.
