Plenty of golf cart maintenance people that will come to you’re door or pick you cart up and will do just good job or better than VGCs

:ohdear: I sure hope they don't! Just my humble opinion. I've purchased 5 all from The Villages Golf Car Stores since moving here in 2004 and have had EXCELLENT service. I'm a loyal customer and like being treated like one. :ho:

Please call the service department for any update on policy. It has been they only made appointments for carts they sold, but if you got in line early they would service any cart first come first serve if any time slots were available. YMMV

I don't believe that's exactly their policy. They give priority on appointments to carts bought there, and have only a very limited number of appointments available for carts bought elsewhere, so given demand that may "effectively" be the case.

I did not buy from the Villages and have never had a problem getting service there. I've been at least 5 times. Once, but only once, they asked me if I had purchased there, but even then, my wait time was only one week to get an appointment. It's the Villages, do you really think they will turn down a cash customer?

We were told, while at VGC in Brownwood and that was very recent, that they will only be servicing carts from now on that are purchased there.

What about warranty repair on a new cart not purchased there? Aren’t they obligated by manufacturer to do those types of repairs?

When I bought mine in for service they asked if I bought the cart there. Well the cart was purchased there, but not by me, it came with my house. They serviced it and I don’t recall what the difference was, maybe in the service fee. It struck me as odd, generally these things follow the item not the person.

They told me that they give scheduling priority to carts that had been sold by them.
Yes they will service any Yamaha cart.

But not the best cost or value option. Check around.

I asked this exact thing at the new store at Magnolia Plaza and was told no.

They did our cart repair for the Yamaha recall on the brake petal spring, even tho we did not buy our cart from them. But a tent was set up outside in the parking lot & we think it was done by a tech from Yamaha. No charge, of course! That was a couple of years ago. The cart is a 2017, bought in 2018.

If your cart is set to go above 20 mph, they will reset it without your permission.

I would ask them rather than here. According to me-I do not work for them.
I believe it has been sold or is under new management. We have a rise in population the flight of the snow birds. Restaurants, roads, pools, golf etc etc etc are more crowded.
Any business will and must support customers who support them. We did not buy from Villages Golf Carts. We have never had trouble getting them to service our cart and we have been happy with them. I do fine it amusing that with a service, they have a loaner golf cart for you. How can you possibly get a long without a golf cart in the Village?
Most problems around here are laughable.

True, but you need an appointment for an oil change and that will take more than a month. Heck all the cart repair guys are very busy.

Probably 10 different responses. Just pick up the phone, call, and ask.
