I just went to the optometrists to have my eyeglasses adjusted. This is a completely free sevice that is performed with a smile and they ask for nothing in return.
I thought to myself that this has to be one of the only free services left in this world. Can anybody think of anything else that is completely free like this in 2010 ?

Yes, there are many compassionate people in the world....
My hairdresser shaved my head at the start of my first chemo session. I asked him how much and he replied (teary-eyed) "You take care of yourself and get outta here." With a big hug, I left feeling loved by a long-time friend.
Our ceiling showed a water stain. I contacted our roofer (who had just done a roof problem a few months ago) to check out the roof. He came about two hours later, checked the roof and fixed it. I asked him how much and he replied, "This one is on me." I couldn't accept that as he responded so quickly and on a Sunday and did the quick fix, so paid him accordingly. A fine man is he.
And so it goes.....b

Does that count? You have to buy something to "get one free". It's more like a 50 percent discount, except you have to pay full price for one to get it.

It is a 100% discount. If I want to buy a can of Del Monte peas and they cost 75 cents and I am going to get one free then I have saved 75 cents since I do not have to buy another can next time. I only do the BOGO on items that I want. I probably have more cereal than I can eat because of BOGO.
I really wish they would put a big box for the homeless shelters in front of the stores so I could put the BOGO one in the box.

Although we pay taxes to support our public libraries, I think the services they provide are priceless.
Did you know that the Lady Lake Public Library offers: A free county-wide adult literarcy program. Books by mail. Free legal resources. An interlibrary loan system so you can get a book, magazine, microfilm or microfiche from any library nationwide that participates in the interlibrary system (there are some restrictions). Voter registration. All free.

Free admission to the Tampa Bay Rays baseball games. The Rays clinched a playoff berth and only 17,000 fans showed up to watch. The owners gave away 20,000 free tix to each of the next two games . What a surprise--- capacity crowds!!!
If they don't have sellouts for all of the post-season games, the town is pathetic and should lose its franchise.

Yeah, I saw that in the news up here in NC. What is the problem with the franchise ? All I have heard is that the stadium is on the "wrong" side of the bridge, whatever that means.
