We're looking to initiate a CO-ED golf group, starting with basics (listed below) and working out the details that best fits folks schedules and interests.

1) Playing one or two rounds a week. One round on a Championship course, possible 2nd round TBD (Exec or Champ).
2) Playing Late Afternoon...when UV drops. Summertime after 5PM.
3) Good Golf Etiquette, Good Pace of Play.
4) Casual Fun Golf.
5) Mostly playing North of 466A.
6) Year round play? (Twilight in summer months).
7) Group Size (TBD). A set/committed number of pairs to create at least 2 or 3 foursomes would be ideal. Several "alternate pair" teams for filling in?

Hope to get started up by June!

Sounds interesting. But I'm not 100% clear on how you mean CO-ED? Couples only? Open to singles either male or female? Something else possibly? :)

I would be interested, but I have no intention of attempting to play on a championship course, I am just starting to golf. Mty wife would probably also be interested in an exec course only group.

Sounds interesting. But I'm not 100% clear on how you mean CO-ED? Couples only? Open to singles either male or female? Something else possibly? :) CO-ED is a starting point for us (wife and I) to play in a group of other couples. We're just trying to avoid a "bunch of guys" playing. As long as we get a number of M's & F's to sign up, group plan will work for us. Let's see what kind of response develops in the coming days. Thanks for the question.

Thanks for response, get in your Exec Course practice, then keep us in mind. Don't be intimidated by Championship courses, I actually think they're easier to play...more roomy and forgiving. If you can play "Execs" good, you'll do fine on the big courses.

Good morning to all interested parties, I'll try to address all questions on this post:
1) Executive and socializing afterwards? Sounds good to us as our 2nd group play of the week. Our 1st play of the week will be on a Championship course.
2) 9 or 18 holes? We're looking to play 18, but can start out doing 9 as a group and see how it goes.
3) Day(s) to play? Thursday, Friday or Saturday works best for us.
4) Snowbirds in group? Absolutely, as long as group has enough committed year round players.

Thanks for interest and responses/questions, once we get through a few filtering iterations to define and agree on group plan - we can all exchange names and e-mails.

My wife Susan and I would be interested. We played as a couple before on Championship courses after 5 when the sun and the price went down. We played a "scramble" format which made it more enjoyable for the short hitter in the couple. Of course, on execs, we play our own ball.

Please keep us posted.

Thank You.

COED golf group sounds fun. 9 holes on Championship course is perfect. Late afternoon on Friday perfect. June start perfect. Both my husband and I have been playing for a couple of decades and play mostly Championship courses, as someone mentioned forgiving and really fun. We're into social and enjoy fun golf games as well. Playing golf is the best reason we've found to meet great people!

Just touching base with all golfers, as the group list is growing quickly. 24 people (Listed below: 10 couples & 4 singles (2M's & 2F's)) have shown interest, this count doesn't include "snowbirds" or people wanting to play only Executive courses. For now I'd like to sort out the Championship course play for 1 day per week. We're open to Thursday, Friday or Saturday. One person has responded with a Friday request. The 9 or 18 hole play decision can be deferred until we really start playing, I expect some will play only 9, others will want 18.

We've had a good turnout so far as follows: A) 27 people (12 couples and 3 singles (1M & 2F's)) interested in Group Play as defined in original post, B) 8 people (4 couples) as "snowbirds", C) 6 people (3 couples) for Executive courses only. D) 2 People (1 couple) have future interest, no at TV yet. As mentioned previously, the focus for now is getting Group "A" sorted out and playing by June. I'd like to let this percolate for a few days to get feedback from people on preferences for day to play golf, format suggestions, any concerns or issues with group golf and every individual's personal choices. The group is for golf fun & enjoyment only...sorry to have to emphasize this, but we hope all can leave their politics at home for a few hours. Thanks!

Shouldn't be an issue, even at last minute dropping a foursome to a threesome is no big deal.

If you stick to one particular day of the week, that may cut out a number of interested people. Most of us have at least one day of the week we can't play as we are part of other groups/activities. I can't make Friday's or Sundays for instance. Varying the day of the week would allow all those interested to play at least some of the time. Just a thought. Juli and I would be interested in a mix of 9-hole exec and 18-hole championship but mainly the championship courses. Juli has had foot surgery so will be out for a number of weeks and we have a 2 month RV trip planned starting mid-June.

I picked up one of the BagBoy Nitron Golf Push Carts at the beginning of the year and have had zero problems with it. It isn't the cheapest one out there but it folds up small and unfolds in under 3 seconds. I've got a big BagBoy tour/staff bag and they have a feature that locks it right in place so it sits securely and literally can't fall off, moves/rolls smooth, it also has a hand brake so it won't roll away on you. 2 drawbacks are that you have to take your bag off the cart in order to fold it back up and the storage pouch under the handle doesn't secure causing things to fall out when you do go to put it back in the car (a small piece of double sided velcro tape easily solved the latter problem)

We will be Villagers in May. Both myself and my wife are very interested. Please keep us in mind...joemanz99
Thanks!

My wife and I would be interested. I was a decent player back in the day, not so much any more. I have trouble with the heat and several injuries limit what I can do.
The wife is a complete beginner but enjoys getting out.
We'd probably only be interested in executive courses but might consider the occasional championship.

What do I need to do to get added to the list?

We only play Championship courses to date, however a few players have shown interest in playing Executive courses also.
I can add you to our group roster as an "alternate", meaning I will only add you to the weekly group request for Sunday Championship play if you contact me through E-mail by the Monday (12 noon) prior to play day (following Sunday).

If you want me too add you as an "alternate" on our group roster, please E-Mail following info to me (at grayesun@yahoo.com):
Names
Golf ID #'s
Phone Number

Just a quick followup to recent posts…my wife and I would be interested in executive courses also.

(I currently play with the group on champ courses, but I would love for my wife to play with the group, and she would like to start with the execs.) :)

Suggest you connect with the Dr...Winston O. See his post on Page 5 & plan on joining our group a month or 2 down the road. Our group only plays Championship courses. Keep in touch!
