Coming down to the villages next week to look around and wanted to play the pitch & putt course with the wife. Do you need tee times to play? If so, are they hard to get? Thanks for any info!

Yes, you need a tee time. They should not be hard to get. They rent carry bags as it is a walking course. Holes vary from about 40 yards to 110. It is a nice 18 hole walk.

Pitch & Putt did not require a time when we played last week. First come, first serve.

It is no different than any other course in TV, tee times are required. You can call the starter shack and see if they have any cancellations the day of play. Do you feel lucky? Well do ya? 352-751-7788

This is not really correct. It is not first gone first served. P&P uses The Villages golf reservation system. However, like all courses here, if a tee time is not booked, you can walk on. Now that season is winding down, that is easier to do, especially P&P.

You don't say if you are visiting friends or renting. Keep in mind, that course is a part of the Executive amenity courses and requires an ID to play.

If you are on a lifestyle visit just ask your guest coordinator or sales agent to book a tee time.

FYI the pitch and putt course is labeled "marshview" in the online Tee Time reservation system. It resides under the executive golf course category. It does not use the words pitch and putt and "marshview" is one word. Other areas refer to it as Marshview with a capital M or Marsh View two words and even Marshview pitch and putt.

Whenever I have looked there were plenty of open tee times, even during high season (Jan to March)

I would advise you to practice hitting off of a sand filled artificial turf mat.
It's harder than I thought. Mats are packed down and the club needs to hit just right. Some people put a tee in the grass. It's great fun.

My bad. I was thinking Putt and Play, which is run by the Rec. Center. That is first come, first serve.
Pitch and Putt does require a time.

If you want to play at a certain time you need a tee time. With the snowbirds leaving its getting easier.

Thanks all for the info! We are renting house for the week which includes a guest pass. We’ll need the pass # to make tee times, so we’ll have to wait until we arrive. Thanks again!

Bad info. You have to make a tee time unless you walk up @ 6:00 pm or later.

As you can see, ask a question and you ger a million different answers. Its best to go to the source and not here for advice. Youll be more confused after asking the question here than before. Lol

You do need a tee time. You may be confusing pitch & put with put put

Marshview is a wonderful little golf course. We play it a LOT during the non-tourist season.

There are a lot of water hazards so bring extra golf balls. One time I saw a lady quitting her round because she bought only five golf balls and she lost all of them.

One day we saw five alligators in the ponds.

We often see people getting lost on the course. One time I saw a guy approaching the first tee as we were heading to the back nine. I said, "Don't get lost" and he thought I was joking. A little while later I saw him on the fifth tee trying to hit to 13th green.

I think the whole area with the Cattail rec center, Marshview golf, Edna's, and the Hogeye walking/biking trail is the best thing The Villages has ever done, especially since they put of barricades to keep the golf carts off the walking trail.

We had a 6:15 tee time, and could schedule only 9 holes. Our rental bag/ clubs had to be returned to the starter shack by 7:30.... at the very latest.

You will have to pay to play if you're not a resident.
My friend did.

Yes... I work there two days a week... you may call the day of, but the course at this time of year is quite busy. Recommend making a tee time in advance.,..
