Question on ceiling fans.
Our build lists the fans as ---canfield 52 ceiling fan. Think they are made by Kichler and lights can be added no problem.
Has anyone added a light kit? Changed out switch to control both fan and light?
I saw it somewhere on the interweb people have, but cant find the posts. Getting to my big question is anyone installed a switch which is controlled by voice- like an Amazon Alexa device?

The home will have a switched outlet. The fan light wire is already in place. It is simple to exchange the switched outlet for a switched overhead (fan) light. The outlet would then be an always on outlet.

Any of these hardwired switches can be smart switches as you desire.

I have done this on seven fans already.

OP, depending on the age of your house you may be lucky and find an additional RED wire going to the ceiling fan. Then as noted above you can use this to control the light, and the normal black wire to control the fan. If you do not have the RED wire there are remote controls (end cap at Lowe's) for around $35 to $40 that work very well you get 3 fan speeds and light on or off, there may be a model that also gets dimming of the light. As for the light kit, remove the round cover at the bottom of the fan (2 or 3 screws), look at the connector you will want to match this. I would take a picture. One other word of caution, a few years ago I bought light kits and did not notice the lights were NOT the typical screw in but were PIN based, and I will need to change the sockets or the light kits when the lamps fail.
Hope this helps, feel free to send me a PM if you would like to discuss over the phone.
