The crazy ants are really becoming a problem in my home and around our property. The only good thing, I understand they eat fire ants. I am told that Houston had a major problem with them and the EPA is trying to solve the little ant problem there, any one having the same problem with the little pest?

Sprinkle table salt if they are on cement or plain dirt, sand, rocks (not grass). or mix powered Borax with powdered suger 50/50 and sprinkle this where there are ant. Borax is found with laundry soaps. Two or three spreadings and they are gone.

What is the difference between "crazy" ants and fire ants? Do they both have ant hills? When we returned the last time we had to call Massey because we had ants in both bathrooms. They came right away, sprayed and put down traps and that was the end of them. I am not sure whether they were crazy or fire.

All bugs make me crazy.

Dog Friendly: are you located in TV? I know these Crazy Raspberry Ants are in Texas, but are they already here in The Villages?

don't ya know we just stopped using Massey, wasn't happy with the way our lawn was looking. The crazy ants are a tiny, tiny ant that is sometimes hard to spot in the house, but the do walk around crazy, like they have had a few too many. I first noticed them in the bathroom also, ok I was sitting down....the fire ants are in mounds and are red, the little black pest run in a stright row, except for when they walk crazy.......

I believe they are also known as "****" ants and "sugar" based on the above description.

We came in for the weekend, and found tiny red ants in the kitchen. No one has been there since our June closing and that was only for a week and a half. No food was left in the house. Called Dean's and they were there that afternoon, very impressive. The tech said they were pyramid ants and that they were harmless. She treated under the cabinets and the baseboards, left traps, and also did the outside. I guess no matter what you do your going to get bugs, after all, it is Florida.:D

Yes, I am happy with them. They did the initial treatment on the house during construction, so I decided to sign the warranty contract with them. Called Monday morning and showed up that afternoon. Seemed pretty quick to me, and she did both inside and outside. If you're coming down for a visit, enjoy!! If you're coming permanently, I'm really jealous!!
