Safety at Lake Okahumpka

Villagers beware when you are at the parks outside of the villages. Some friends just visited Lake Okahumpka for an hour around 5:00 pm. While they were looking around ,their rental car's window was smashed in and their belongings were stolen out of their car. This was in broad daylight! Just want to warn others from experiencing this situation.

My daughter and family had their car window smashed at a Disney Hotel (IIRC it was Wilderness Lodge) 2yrs ago and everything stolen. There have been cars stolen at Disney as well. Like my daughter I would assume your friend had their "belongings" in plain site or there would have been no reason for a break in unless they wanted to steal the car. That phenomena is not limited to "parks outside The Villages." I would expect it has happened inside the bubble as well.

There is no fear for doing wrong. A slap on the hand if you get caught. Morals are long gone with some.
