New Features on Talk Of The Villages!

We have made an update to improve the user experience on TOTV! On each thread and post you will see icons where you can quickly 'email' the thread or post to a friend to share it! Also we have added an icon to 'subscribe' to the thread so anytime there is a new comment left on that specific thread you will get a notification! And we have added an icon where you can get a print ready version of the page if you want to print out the thread!

The envelope is for you to email that thread to someone. The Plus '+' will expand and show you the users who have thanked you for your comment. The thumbs up is a way to let a user know that you appreciate the particular feedback they have provided.

Once you are in the forum you want to post in, at the top you should see a red button that says 'Post New Thread'. Once you click on that you can post a new topic under that forum.
I think the problem is that some people never click on the forum menu. They just click on the thread name in the "latest posts" section, so they don't see the "post new thread" button, even though they are in the forum. Another way to access the "post new thread" button is to click on the forum name to the right side of the thread name, such as "The Villages, Florida, General".

What I would strongly recommend is a new text editor that doesn't require HTML for things like links. That should all be handled by the text editor in the background.
