The first few seasons were very good. Like many shows, they stretched it a couple seasons to much instead of ending it gracefully. At the time it was fairly cutting edge (for the networks) with a gay couple, dysfunctional parents, etc. If that sort of thing bothers you, you may not like it.

Be sure to start at the beginning, don't just jump into the middle

Well that’s disappointing.

After seeing this I thought it might have some potential...

I would be careful of a review of "garbage". Shows don't stay on as long as MF without having some merit. I would watch the first 4 or so and see what you think. For me I thought it was a pretty funny show.

My wife loved it. Me, not so much. Then again the last show I thought that was worth watching was M*A*S*H.. lol

In what way was it garbage? What was bad about it? Was it the lighting? The scripts? The theme, the actors? Wardrobe, setting, topics presented in each episode?

Verbs in sentences please.

Enquiring minds want to know.

One of my favorites. I found it very entertaining, especially the earlier seasons. Cam and Mitchell were my favorite characters- their dialogue was hysterical.

It used to be a great show. I have not watched it for the last several seasons - no particular reason, other than it did not seem to be quite as funny.

If you want a really funny show, try Schitt's Creek - from the beginning. And stick with it through the first few episodes. It gets funnier after that.

Liked it for a few years................then as a lot of shows go, I they had a hard time maintaining the funnies.

As with a lot of shows, the growing children change the dynamics.

I'll watch anything with Ed O'Neil (he plays family patriarch Jay Pritchard)...

He's my spirit animal... ;)

Personally I think the show is hilarious, but the next person may hate it or find it offensive. I say start at the beginning and watch a few episodes and make up your own mind. I was watching reruns of it the other day and they literally had me in tears laughing.

It was a very funny show about everyday people who care about each other but have their differences. The acting is great. If you are squeamish about gay people, you won't like that part of it, although I don't remember anything physical happening there. Each show has a message. Like others, I enjoyed the first few seasons the most.

Also, I agree with the Schitt's Creek assessment, although there is a gay couple in there too. And they knew when to end the show.

I wasn't a huge fan, but my sister LOVED it. So you really can't go by other people. Watch an episode or 2 and see for yourself.

One of the things that took some getting used to was that they switched from vignette to vignette. Something's happening here with these people, then something's happening there with those people, etc. In the end it all comes together, but back then this was kind of a new way of doing a tv show. I didn't like it at first, but I got used to it. More shows are like that now. I think that style appeals to the younger, internet generation who are used to things moving faster.

I love it. Some of the funniest lines I've ever heard on television.

But I do agree that it kind of jumped the shark after several years.
