I have two questions
Is there a limit to how many adults can live in a home? in the Villages.
Are there any rules about barking dogs 6 hours a day non stop
both from the same house?
thank you

Look at your Restrictive Covenants.

I don't think The Villages has a rule about the number of adults. They do have a rule about noise, but it only requires that noise be kept to a "moderate" level after 10 PM. I would suggest contacting the county about what laws they may have in your county.

I doubt there is any maximum to the number of adults in a home however if you pay property taxes to Wildwood call their police department about a dog nuisance, they may be able to help, if you don't pay Wildwood taxes call the county and see if they have any laws regarding barking dogs.

talk to the neighbors, if that doesn't work or you're uneasy about that, call the cops

Sorry no more anonymous complaints, Please leave your name address, and phone number so the Accused can face you face-to-face. Sorry no help from the community watch they are only authorized to drive around and do nothing. It's called a "SRO". But is probably not a business being run from the home. Maybe a section 8. Maybe soon a trailer will show up with the rest of the clan, and more dogs.

Anonymous calls are still accepted in many of the districts as they should be, by not accepting anonymous complaints rifts will be caused with neighbors or even entire neighborhoods. I personally approached a chronic dog off leash rule breaker and explained what she was doing wrong, the nice lady called me a MF and told me I was harassing her then she sent her husband down to my house to "speak to me", nice lady. That didn't bother me but there are a lot of people who would be bothered by someone as nasty as she. There are a lot of crazy people that don't give a crap about anything or anybody and those are the ones you eventually read about on some on-line local news outlet.

By law, six people can live in a three-bedroom house in Florida. This number can be more or less depending on the actual living space. In 1996, the U.S. Congress approved a two-person-per-bedroom law as a housing occupancy standard, but this law is flexible.

Always keep a watchful eye. Know who your neighbors are. Too many people in the house and dogs barking continuously could possibly indicate illegal activity that would need to be reported. See something say something.

I found the listed phone number and left a message with my name detailing that their constantly barking dog sounded stressed. Since they were not at home, they apparently had no idea what was happening. Being good pet owners, the barking stopped. You could also politely detail you concerns in a letter, anonymously or not. Another route might be a “welfare check” on the pets.

How about you go over to your neighbor and speakto them. Some people with dogs just dont notice the barking. At least give it a try before taking the next step

Thats a little dramatic. Barking dogs and a house full of people doesnt point to illegal activity at all. How about you just go speak to them first before making anonymous calls or taking the next step

Remember the old couple that lived on the corner in your neighborhood that yelled at you when cut across their lawn, well they have moved to TV.

Fire and safety regulations may apply
Check with code enforcement

Sorry to hear about your problems. So far we've been lucky. Where we used to live we had the neighbors from hell. Does not sound like the sort of people you can reason with.

Re: barking dog.
We also had that. I bought one of those ultrasound things. It was about $30. The dog,
well his barking was then a combination of him barking and laughing at the device.

I'm sure I will receive nasty posts. Buy a silent dog whistle. It will take time but you can train their dog to bark when he hears you blow the whistle. A few times at say 2am and the dog will be gone.

If, they were people who cared, you would not have the problem that you have.

For the barking dogs you can purchase a n electronic device from Amazon that when pointed at the neighbors house should stop the barking problem. I used one successfully at my home in Dade City before I moved to TV. They make a sound that you can’t hear but the dogs can.

The OP wasn't asking how many dogs are allowed.
He was asking how many people are allowed and about how to stop a constant barking dog.

I have one friend who was next door to a barking dog in Buttonwood.
He solved the problem. he moved to another neighborhood in TV.
And another friend whose neighbors behind him complained about everything he did.
Tv too loud, talking too loud, privacy bush was 6" on their property.
My friend couldn't please them in any fashion.
Soooo, that friend moved as well to another neighborhood in TV that backs up to a vacant lot.
You can't please some people no matter how hard you try to negotiate with them.

Remember that homes in the Villages are zoned single family residential. Although the term “single family” does not define capacity, it clearly means long term occupants (not visitors) are required to from the same family. We had a neighbor from hell, who fortunately has moved out, that was running an AIRBNB from the house while living there, which violated the single family restriction. It also violated the deed restriction that one can not run a business from their home.

For the dog issue call the police. Dogs barking for that long is unacceptable by county ordinance(which you can look up online). The police will caution the owners and if it doesn't cease will eventually issue them a summons.

Or the guy next door when we were kids, who had a basement full of baseballs. Every one that ever landed on any inch of his yard. He was truly an unhappy man.

Maybe the way to approach this is if the dogs are outside six hours a day do they have shade and water. It might be inhumane treatment of the dogs. Are they tied up?

I called the VCDD yesterday concerning Deed restrictions and dogs as we were looking at possibly purchasing a home where the restrictions stated 1 dog or cat 20lbs. Our dog is 100 lbs, 9 yrs of age, big ole Lab. The VCDD stated if they received a complaint that they would send you letter stating that when you replace your dog after he passes that you must be in compliance with the deed restrictions. We decided not to bid on the home because we are unsure if in the future our dog passes if we will want a small dog. Someone has to take care of the Big dogs! I have looked at several Deed restrictions in the Spanish springs area and most state 40lbs but some do say 20Lb and then there are a few areas that have no weight limit just a limit on amount. Most say 1 dog and do not mention cats however there are a few that mention cats as well. Please read your restrictions and try to stay compliant. Our area is now limited as to where we will purchase, as for right now we will just stay with my mother as we are not fully retired and only are able to come for a week or two.....but we are getting close. I personally have a soft heart when it comes to dogs so it would take a lot for me to complain. I would be more worried that if a dog is barking non stop it is being neglected. Our dog has a big bark but only barks when he either wants food, or someone is approaching our residence, or if I let him out at night then he barks at the critters. I would probably approach the neighbors and ask them if everything is alright with their dog because it is barking a lot and see if I saw any neglect, if it looks thin, if its in a cage all day etc. Seems very odd that a dog is barking non stop all day long.

Let's have some examples of how you check out your neighbors before buying. Also neighbors come and go, there are 8 homes on our street and to date 15 different owners, all in less than 4 years.

You point out correctly it is A problem. Not happening everywhere.

Unfortunate you won’t be joining us in TV.
