At about 2:13 p.m., fourteen aircraft flew over Hadley (and much else, no doubt) in formation. What was it?

Looked and sounded like a squadron from a WWII carrier in the Pacific theater.

Very cool.

They were actually heading to the Sun N Fun Flyin. They do an airplane show there every year and it’s going on now

Saw 2 squadrons. One early flying low, and one flying higher after two o'clock. No, mistaking that sound. Can only wonder what it sounded like at Pearl Harbor.

I also saw the flight. The sound of multiple radial engines immediately got my attention.

It was probably a flight of display aircraft headed for Sun-n-Fun in Orlando. They looked and sounded like AT-6s (SNJ in Navy terms), which is a former military trainer that frequently appears at large airshows.

EAA at SUN ’n FUN 2021 (https://www.eaa.org/eaa/events-and-experiences/EAA-at-SUN-n-FUN)
Second best air show in the country. Oshkosh fly-in is the best. Yes, the Blue Angels will be there. Fantastic event if you've never been. I built and flew my own Glasair to the show a few years ago. I didn't see or hear the flyover, but suspect it was a flight of P-51's. Have a spare $million and you could buy one. You will never forget the sound of the rolls-royce engines!

Had trouble watching my TV show whatever that was. Very noisy but I was too late when I went out at a commercial break to see what was making all the noise.

just went on the link you sent. Signed up for future e mails. I see it's about an hour and a half away. We have an airshow in Long Island every year at Jones Beach! My son was actually sworn into the Air Force with a group on beach, with planes flying above and a parachuter coming down. It was something! Have you ever gone to the Lakeland air show?

Yes, I heard humming outside my backyard. Went outside and looked up to the sky, squinting, when I saw a formation of 14 planes, I think. Then I read in the paper about the airshow in the south this weekend.

Oh, pet peeve, former biology major. No such species as Canadian Geese. They are Canada geese (https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Canada_Goose/id), just the word Canada. I know, lots of people name it wrong and it is commonly used, but still not the name of the bird. It is a Florida panther not a Floridian panther. Same rule.

If you are bored this weekend and you like planes , the Sun n Fun air show is on this weekend. Besides the “Warbirds” P51s , etc youll have the Blue Angels, the F35 demo team and several others.
Its less than 1.5 hr trip. The afternoon shows last several hours

The local rag didn’t make a big deal of this air show? With all us veterans here? Is there an alternative paper we can get along with the Sun.

Gray Eagles Documentary (https://chriswoodsdirector.com/gray-eagles-documentary/)
Best movie I've ever seen documenting the pilots that flew them in the war. Seeing and hearing the P-51 is a lifetime event. The story of an ace that flew the 51 in combat.

true, however
A Canadian goose could be any goose from Canada...and if there was more than one goose, an English major would say that the plural of Goose (which is Geese) should be used

so there you have it...Canadian Geese is an acceptable description!!

besides, how could anyone actually determine whether a specific bird was a Canada Goose, or part of a flock of a Canadian Geese (a.k.a. snowbirds) on their way home?

The Atlantic flyway is open all the way up to Newfoundland...no ID's required

Just saying.....:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:
