Enjoyed watching that!!!

Waiting for Mr. Negative to post: It wasn't a strong field, no body made a charge.

Really came out swinging the first two rounds.

Great to see him win. Great to watch him laughing with his son, his caddy. Great to see the whole family there to support him in his victory. :)

Did my heart good to see a journeyman win. Had to wonder though if he's giving his son the customary 10% of the winnings (or more). Nice allowance, Dad!:coolsmiley:

Ok time to shame me. I watched some of the final round, and VERY pleased that "an old guy" won it all - esp with his son on the bag etc etc.

That said, the network sure did its fair share of squeezing every bit of soft emotion and tag lines and closeups of the family etc etc. Perhaps because there was really never a competiton/close match. But over time I became a bit sour with all the soft talk and closeups of the Caddy/Golfer conversation and hugs and smiles and... Of course they KNEW they were the FOCUS, with the camera and mike 10' away at all times. And good for the officials to call "On the Clock" a few times to speed up the pre-shot talk and discussions. Of course the network desired some Primetime coverage of the post-match kisses/hugs/tears.

OK, I am a 'softie' most times - but I feel that CBS and Stewart's team went way overboard with the softstuff.

This all said, great tournament Stewart! And I feel that Nick Faldo is the BEST commentator on Golf - and I really like Dottie Pepper too.

I was pulling for the "old" guy and his lovely family.

Not sure that I'd call Stewart Cink a journeyman. He has eight wins including an Open Championship. He's been ranked as high as number five in the world.

Was great to see him win with son by his side. They were really having a good time out there and it showed. Congratulations!!!

Thanks all for the congratulatory wishes! We had a great time watching!
Yes, the network did spend extra time focusing on the "family story". I felt like Stewart and Reagan were writing a special script out there and the network knew people would like it.
Of course, we enjoyed every moment! Proud mom and dad and proud grandparents!

You are correct, sir. Thank you. And thank you also for not telling me the preferred term is JourneyPerson. :mademyday:

I wonder how many tournaments former Ga Tech golf team players have won?
