Finally, a host I can listen to without wanting to change the channel or fall asleep.

A good choice for keeping it flowing.

Here is hoping he hosts a game show better than moderating a debate?

No one better than Alex. No one ever, ever will.

Ditto.
Reach the bottom of the barrel?

The producers must think this revolving door of hosts is of value.
Rolling the ratings dice unnecessarily....IMHO.

I think Anderson was excellent. Looking forward to watching this week and next week.

I think the entertainment value of the show is the questions and the contestants. The host is primarily a facilitator.

I've been impressed by the guest hosts. It proves to me that Trebek was nothing special. The guest hosts have been at least as good and seem very intelligent when they have the answers in front of them. I'm sure most of them are anyway - I KNOW Ken Jennings is. He proved it over many weeks.

Most likely you are right but since he is gone they need a replacement.

Anderson carries too much baggage for me.

My favorite guest host so far was the show's executive producer! He did a great job - kept the focus on being a tribute to Alex, without making it cheesy!

:1rotfl: :1rotfl: :1rotfl: So true!!! But Cooper is 2 times Jeopardy champion (and I like that he has enough humility to say he also lost twice). I have no doubt he and Ken Jennings are the real deal, not just people who can read. They also have good humor and varied intonation which I appreciate.

No one better than Alex. No one ever, ever will.

I totally disagree. I found Alex so self-centered and patronizing. Way too much acting/relating everything to how he felt about it. And the put downs when people weren't right was cringeworthy. But of course that's my opinion and no one will "ever, ever" be correct about who is "better". We just have opinions, not absolutes, in my book!

I am just guessing and it takes a special person to be a host of a show like that as I would think it would be a very boring job even with great pay as you don't have any creativity or will input on what you say or do. At least Richard Dawson got to kiss all the girls

I’ve just stopped watching it. These bad guest hosts have ruined it for me.

I think Anderson is doing a great job. I like Aaron the past 2 weeks. I would happy if either of the become the permanent host.

Enough is enough. Jeopardy needs to make a decision. They are beginning to look foolish.
As for Jane Pauley and Anderson Cooper, can we trust either to accurately recognize the correct answer and report it honestly?

I think not.

You and me both, regarding Alex. He sometimes talked down to contestants, also. I didn't mind him, and he was very humble about his illness. I read he was in great pain toward the end but insisted on filming as long as he could. I admire the way he handled himself. But he could get on my nerves sometimes with his lofty response when nobody knew the answer. (Unlike Aaron Rogers, who threw his hands in the air when nobody got Who are the Green Bay Packers!)

So far my favorites are the executive producer, Aaron Rogers (who was loosening up toward the end), and Anderson Cooper.

Katie Couric a definite no, Dr. Oz, meh, and not a fan of Ken Jennings.

Well said. I thought I was the only one that thought he was sometimes unkind when a contestant was wrong or in last place. I agree Anderson is good.

Totally agree with everything you wrote. I cringed many times with his off handed comments.

Baggage? He is a brilliant journalist and interviewer. I think he is doing well as a guest host as have all except for Doctor Oz and Katie Couric.

I always like to see all the questions answered, and seldom they were all answered when Alex was host. To much jibber jabber, and not needed comments. At least all of these guest hosts have been able to keep it moving and get all the questions and answers in. I did like the director best of all so far.

How will you know if he is telling the truth when he states your answer is correct or wrong?

Lets have Austin Rogers host!
In 2017, Austin Rogers, a bartender from New York City, competed on the trivia game show “Jeopardy” on a whim. It's safe to say that Rogers' impulse paid off: After a 12-game winning streak, he took home $411,000 in prize money and became a viral internet sensation, thanks to his positive demeanor and sense of humo

I liked Alex but agree he could act somewhat incredulous when no one knew the answer. Was off-putting when he had the answers in front of him.

I like the revolving guest hosts. Enables them to find the best, although no one will be uniformly liked. Plus the show is matching the winnings to each host's charity. Good all around.
