We are excited to make our permanent move in July to our home in Fenney. The plan is to order a new golf cart at the Villages Golf Carts at Magnolia Plaza. Does anyone know how long it takes to get delivery on a new cart? Thanks..

About 3 months. You get a loaner for free, as soon as you put a deposit down.

I bought my 2021 Yamaha in December off the floor and took delivery the following day. I could have had it the same day if I really needed it, or they would have given me a loaner if I needed one. My tastes are relatively simple, and I don't need bells or whistles on a golf cart, so I may not be typical of a Villages golf cart buyer.

We bought one off the floor at Country Village Power Equipment in Webster FL. They had one we liked but it was a gas model and we wanted electric. They just switched the chassis and we had it in days and saved over $2000 over Villages stores. They have an indoor showroom with a wide selection.

You may want to price around other dealers. Carts and clubs in Ocala was able to beat the Villages price by $1,000 when we bought a few years ago. They will deliver to your home and go to your home to perform periodic maintenance. Welcome to south of 44!

I was wondering how would someone decides between gas or electric powered golf carts is it convenience or pricing do you get more options with electric like A/C and wipers or gas gets more range, so what’s a better choice for the TV?

Everyone likes different things. I only looked at gas because of the long drives we take and once batteries are dead it takes over night to charge. I you are out and about and the battles are dead it is hard to then go to the centers for music etc.

Do they provide a free loaner for 3 months also? If not, and you rent one, there go your $1000 savings.

An endless debate. Wipers-they require a glass windshield. The far more common windshields are plexiglass-plastic. Wipers will scratch it. You can get a safety glass windshield added to a cart that normally comes with a plastic windshield.

As to A/C. You surely know A/C uses a lot of power and you need an enclosed passenger compartment. As far as I know the only one is branded Atomic. I think it is electric. Surely when you run the A/C the range goes way down.

All is a matter of opinion. We have an 8 year old Yamaha with (gas) fuel injection. We use it almost every day and are here full time. Service-no shortage of places who can, will do service. No shortage of part availability. Repairs? Other than once a year oil change and tune up-none. We have replaced the battery. It was till working but at 5-6 years sooner or later it will let you down

Not true anymore as I understand they price match now as long as it is apples to apples. I hear this is it part of the reason The Villages Cart stores are selling a consistent 400-500 carts a month.

check out other places, not just the villages golf carts. The most expensive place to buy a new cart is that place

Your point is valid IF your needs are immediate. We had a car so waiting a couple of months was worth the $3,500 savings over Villages Golf Carts

Look at all choices, electrics go farther now and quiet and don’t smell gas! Crown Carts carries Star and an Air Conditioned Cart as well.

We just bought one there this week and they said 4 months.

We ordered one in January, they told us 6 weeks, they said it could go 7-10 days longer, All depends on back log. Ours was ready in 6 weeks. We got a 2019 rebuilt chassis, its about 1500 cheaper. But is totally new. We still paid almost 16,000, ouch. But we enjoy it, we got a four seater and our two Goldens can ride in the back. We have put 800 miles on it already. Financing is great 2.99% for 48 months. 2021 is 0% financing, which in hind sight I wish we had done. You'd save $38 a month in interest. 48 x38 = 1824, enough saving to buy the new one.

It’s all depends on how much you plan on using it. I live in the center of The Villages close to Colony. A few weeks ago our group played golf at Lopez. After golf a bunch of us decided to get lunch over in Spanish Springs. After that I went home and my wife wanted to go to dinner at Bluefin in Brownwood. We took the cart then came home. I’m not sure you could do that in an electric cart. Maybe when it’s new but not after a while. I’m not saying gas is better than electric. I think it’s a matter of convenience. It really comes down to a personal choice of how you are going to use the cart.

Better make an appointment for an oil change at the time you get your new cart.

Bought used at Wholesale Golf carts, super nice, very fair ... they just go out of their way to make you happy.
We had different seats added, picked out at the shop at 2pm, they called same day saying-all done and dropping it off imomentarily.

Do your research. I’m surprised that people commenting on electric are giving outdated information . We have a Clubcar electric that will go 60 plus miles. It’s called “ Lithium”, quick, no smell, quiet, no maintenance , 80% charged in two hrs. 60 miles is like driving further than the Orlando airport. You won’t cart around that much in a day, who would want to. Most have onboard chargers as well. We were happy to skip over the smelly, noisy, put put carts .

Try Carts and Clubs in Ocala, same cart will be $1,000-$1,500 less than the Villages.

We just bought a new 2 seater Yamaha gas cart from Villages in Brownwood. There were 3 on hand to choose from. We were told July-August for a new cart. Luckily we loved one that was on the floor because we didn’t want to wait.
If you know what you want, call & order it now-then it will be ready close to your arrival here. Enjoy!

You also are giving outdated information. Yamaha Quiet Tek carts with fuel injection are quiet enough to talk on your cell phone while driving. If there is a smell, my nose doesn’t detect it. Noisy, smelly carts are a thing of the past, at least where Yamaha is concerned.

We bought a brand new 2020 Yamaha gas golf cart last May at Country Village Power Equipment in Webster (about 25 minutes south of Fenney). Had a wonderful experience working with Steve and Carolyn. Saved over $3000.00 from what we were quoted other places and have received great service from them so far. They delivered the cart a couple of days after we purchased it and they let us use it with the factory seats until our custom ordered seats arrived. They then picked up the cart, swapped the seats, installed the enclosure, and returned it to us the same day. They have been back once for an oil change in our driveway. Highly recommend them.

Recommend lithium power. They have plenty of range, impose much less noise and air polution on your neighbors, and Electricity is 10x lower cost than gas per mile. Plus, gas carts won't have much resale value in a few years. All transportation is going electric.

The issue is range. An electric cart has limited range, from 50 to 75 miles depending on the batteries you pick. At that point you need to recharge which can be many hours before you are ready to go again. The gas cart has a range of about 200 miles on a tank and you can just get gas and you are ready to go again. The villages has grown so much that to go from one end to the other is close to 30 miles by golf cart 60 miles round trip. It is not likely you will do that by cart but range is the limiting factor in electric. That being said people like the electric carts because they are quiet and eco friendly. The accessories you can get on gas and electric are virtually the same. So for me it came down to range and the gas cart is much more versatile

If you get electric ( which we've had for over 10 years) you just plug it in after your last trip of the day and it charges overnight. No storing gas, no gas odor while driving and very quiet. The new ones easily go over 50 miles and if I were to drive more than that I'd take a car anyway.

Carts and Clubs are far better for price and service. You’ll wait in line for service, C&C comes to your house no extra money.

We bought two years ago, no wait. Just because the villages has a 3 month wait does not mean all dealers are out of stock. It is worth a few phone calls to check price and availability.

SO MANY "first posters" with signups in 2016 posting troll like posts. Must be a coincidence LOL. Been noticing that for many months here, always 2016, always 1 post, and rarely ever to return. Gotta keep up the traffic on the forum. Also funny how these comments most always get deleted.

Give Wholesale Golf Carts a look. Bought two there, will buy our next ones there as well. Service has been exceptional...very affordable and quick turnaround. Never, ever had an issue with them. Ask for Ron or Chase (the owner).
