We haven’t been to the square in a while so last afternoon we went to LSL for music on the square. During happy hour I went to the bar on the square and ordered a double Absolut soda and a double Jack and ginger ale. $18 was the total. Is that the price now for a double premium? I remembered $6 each. I am not complaining and just paid, tipped and moved on because there was a line behind me . I think I will wear a tank top next time:icon_wink:

I noticed the prices have gone up at the corner bars also. I like the bars that offer half price on everything rather than just well drinks during happy hour.

Maybe they were punishing you for the sin of ruining a fine whiskey like Jack Daniels by mixing it with ginger ale.

What a waste.

$18.00 total for 4 shots of premium = $4.50 per shot plus soda (which the company must buy, cup and employee wages) while wearing a totally inflated priced Tommy Bahama shirt...just saying...ok

Yea, it doesn't seem that $4.50 is out of line. I've paid up to $9.00 for a shot of Jack Daniels (neat of course)

Prices are up on just about everything. I had no idea of those kind of prices for drinks on the Square. I purchase very little outside drinks. We purchase what we care and drink it with friends or family at home. I see too many “over indulging” on the squares and restaurants in TV and then getting in their cart or vehicle heading home or elsewhere.

I ordered a shot of Crown neat at a bar and the bartender gave me a totally blank look. He didn't know what I meant! Is it such a "boomer" terms that younger people don't know what it is?

Shirts do matter. I got crap for the shirt I was wearing the other day from one of the golf ambassadors. My shirt was well within the published dress code. A button down collared shirt with sleeves that went almost to my elbows. My shirts label said Carhartt, not Tommy Bahama, Tommy Hilfiger, or Izod. Apparently the ambassador has a thing against Carharrt, or any shirt that has a pocket. I like the pocket for my T's and divot fixer, and it cost about 1/4 the price of a shirt from one of the hoity toity apparel companies. Also, Carhartt represents the average working class Joe, which is my style. I told the ambassador that the dress code is posted in every pro shop if he wanted to check it out. I don't think he was aware of the dress code since he was working at Hacienda Hills, and their pro shop was torn down?

I agree. The only time you use mixers is with cheap liquor. Top brands are best served over ice

That's why I laugh at bogos in Publix. Is something's price is raised 50% or more and then they give you two for one you're not really saving much I want one example is craft mayo or Hellman's Mayo for $6 a bottle when the regular mail unbranded is $3

Expect more of the same kind of increase for everything. That's your 'Stimulus' checks repayment plan at work.

When they brought happy hour back at the Squares it was only for beer and wine. Mixed drinks are still full price.

You ain't seen nothing yet. With all the money printing it will keep getting worse. Ten dollar loaf of bread soon, etc. Hang on a rocky road ahead.

If you purchase your Tommy Bahama apparel at the TB outlets in TV the cost is very affordable. Most offerings are 50% off or more.

When they have a shoe sale I’ve purchased shoes originally priced at $100.00 or more for $30.00.

Just sayin good shopping habits can produce premium products an normal product pricing on just about anything these days.

We eat on most occasions outside of the villages. Lots of good places, and great prices. I won't pay $ 18.95 for spaghetti

As far as groceries there is a science to it. The sale flyer. They know if they get you in to buy the buy one get one free you will, most will buy other items.

It is interesting that Winn Dixie still uses the small two level carts. That was the original design. Other stores went the larger ones. They are more difficult to get down the isles but people buy more with a larger cart.

As far as Hellmans mayonase and Heintz Ketchup, that is a sacred line I will not cross.
Buy one get one? Tell em you only want the free one.

Those are very important subjects - the cost of drinks and the excitement of local entertainment - with a reference to local fashion thrown in. I wonder how important those subjects are to the average person in India right now?

Are you saying you're not happy with the federal government printing 7 trillion more dollars, effectively lower the value of the dollars you had by 23%. Yeah, it's going to be a problem. After all, Jack Daniels is not part of the CPI Core.

Just imagine what a mandatory wage hike to say $15 per hour would do to prices. Vendors are already paying higher wages to attract workers. Consumers must pay higher prices if you want the vendors to stay in business.
