I have their "Flex" plan for streaming. Yesterday they had a 6 hour either outage of upgrade. Now I can't stream and my devices are not recognizing some of my apps that I need for work (yikes). Any suggestions? I've rebooted numerous times. Have a new Netgear router/modem. Everything worked fine until yesterday.

The same situation with Directv. As of before midnight last night -- say about 9-10 pm -- the black screen of death appeared telling me that the receiver could not communicate with the satellite.
I tried all the ways to contact Directv and nothing worked. Could not get through. I know Comcast and Directv are different -- cable vs satellite -- but it seems odd that they went out within hours of each other.
I am beginning to wonder if the satellite itself is damaged.
My CenturyLink (cable internet) still works. Thank goodness for Roku.

Have you called them? Sometimes they can fix the problem remotely.

Same thing happened to me, but after playing with a few things, they started working again, 3 hours AFTER the 6 hour outage.

When I called I got Comcast recording. They sent me a text with an article about how to use Comcast. Not LOL.

My Directv is still out, and there NO WAY to contact them. I tried the online problem resolution, the chat feature on the website ( not functioning), I called on the phone and got into a loop on the automated phone system.

Thank God for Roku.

Thank God for Roku. Check your satellite transponder strengths. Should maybe still be under "settings , satellite, check satellite signal". Most should all be in the 90's with a couple 0's for local spotbeams. Been 6 years (whoops, edit, make that 10 years! Time flies!)since I was a tech trainer for DirecTV MDU Division so not sure where the sat test is any longer.

What message # are you getting on your TV screen? If all you have is a black screen and see nothing (or snow) when rebooting you are likely on the wrong input assuming your receiver is powered up. :) If all sigs are ZERO you have a dish (or cut cable) issue.

Good luck calling Comcast. Although, Last time I tried to call, I hit zero a bunch of times and that seemed to get me through to a live person. They were of no help of course...

Try unplugging your modem for about 5 minutes. The idea is to force Comcast to reset your connection when the modem comes back on line. This is different from rebottling your router.

I've never had to wait nor have I ever had a problem with their customer service. So much better than Spectrum.

Lucky you. I always get the automated answering system. Impossible to get out of that.

Only took 4 days to fix this, no thanks to Comcast. After their outage, they told me first that my "TV was broken" and then that the fault was in my (new) router. GRRR. What worked: I ended up resetting my router, then reinstalling all my devices. Things are pretty much back to baseline. They are useless.

As much as I hate ComCrap in this case the fault WAS on your end if resetting your "new router" and devices resolved the issue. They have no responsibility (or knowledge) to support your equipment especially if you choose to use your own cable modem and/or router for internet streaming. I had 5 years on that side of the cable/internet world and the only thing they are supposed to tell you is to reboot everything or pay for a service call if your equipment was the cause. While their support folks are idiots and script driven for the most part there are thousands of different modems and routers out there and there is no way they can help you. Had you been running HULU or YOUTUBE if your router needed to be reset your issues would have been the same. You chose to take their least expensive system (internet streaming based TV) and that all revolves around your router (and if you supplied your own cable modem that too).
