We bought Sears (Kenmore) washer and dryer 7+ years ago when we moved in, great units, no problems or maintenance. No idea of the current offerings.

When we moved here we ordered our LG's from Sears and the only problem we had was the delivery guy didn't have the proper tools to hook up the gas dryer so I let him use mine. All is good 4 years later.

My two cents worth. Sears a great old store is in financial trouble. Kenmore used to be made by Whirlpool, I'm not sure that is so now. Sears, used to have service and parts.
I'm not sure they still do or can.
Craftsman tools. Sears to pay bills sold it. I think the same is true for Kenmore. I would suggest researching before buying. Re: Whirlpool-not related to Sears. Our Whirlpool refrigerator takes a very common filter also fits Hotpoint. Price has gone through the roof
and no one seems to carry them. The knock offs-generic-I bought some in frustration.
They are terrible. Part availability is important. Companies no longer use standardized parts so they gocha. Headlights used to be like $2.00 or $3.00 at Korvets or Sears today
that will be 600 to 1,000 and we can get it for you a a month or three.

Still made by Whirlpool...............Front loads by LG.

I’m not sure I understand: are you suggesting LG over Whirlpool? Suggesting that Whirlpool is a Sears brand so may not be serviceable when Sears finally tosses in the towel? Thanks for sharing your thoughts. :-)

Bought our washer & Dryer back in 2009 when we first bought our new home. Had a great experience. Staff was easy to work with, delivery was no problem and we have had no problems with either appliance since they were new.

Yep, correct. I'm a Whirlpool child. My dad worked for the 1900 Corporation, renamed the company Whirlpool in 1949 after he returned from WW2. I was born in Benton Harbor and knew all the plants by heart going there very often with my Dad. My dad retired after 47 years with the company. I still have employee benefits with them and also with the Kenmore appliances made by Whirlpool. If say about 50 to 75 percent, maybe more, are all assembled on the same line as Whirlpool...

I would look up reviews on Consumer Reports before I made an appliance purchase. I’ve had Kenmore in the past and found them very reliable, but that was then and now is now. Lots of appliances are made in China now. C R gives ratings including reliability and performance.

I bought a refrigerator from Sears at the mall in Leesburg about six years ago. A good experience. You never know what quality of a salesperson you will get but ours did fine. We decided to take the info we got at the store and go home and do further research. The salesperson said he would email us a link so that we could order the refrigerator online and save a trip back to the store if we chose to buy it. He said he would get credit for the sale if we used the link. What he didn't know was that Sears was going to include a coupon in the email for $100 off. So we saved an additional $100 just for giving them an email address.
Totally satisfied with the purchase and the appliance.

I bought a top rated Bosch dishwasher from Lowes. Replaced a GE that was 15 years old. The Bosch is very quiet and has many choices of cycles. They delivered and I installed. Very simple to remove and replace. Took the old one to the driveway and paid $10.00 for trash pick up.

Boyfriend had a new Sears refrigerator that started to leak and lost temperature control. After contacting them they gave him the run around for long enough for the company to go bankrupt in Canada and he never got serviced under warranty. Hope this doesn't happen in the US. Sears/Kenmore had always been a favorite of mine.

We replaced our older sears units about 9 years ago after moving to The Villages;have used only Sears Washer & Dryers for more then 50 years;many lasting up to 15 to 20 years. Never had a problem dealing with sears no matter the location
I bought a dishwasher from Sears about 5 years ago. No problems with it but don't like how long it takes to do the dishes on normal wash (about 2 1/2 hrs).

I would caution against Sears. Before moving to TV we purchased all new appliances for the home we were selling. Before purchasing at Best Buy we visited Sears as the were having a close out sale (closing store at Mall). Sears prices were three and four times higher priced. They were selling individuals who finance their purchases. If you choose to finance I’m sure Best Buy and others would help you. Note: I have NO connection and am NOT promoting Best Buy. Good luck with your purchase.

I was raised on the banks of the river, in Fairplain. My suicidal treat was Henry's Hamburgers, which is still there, I believe. I grew up knowing the House of David intimately as I spent the weekends on my grandparents farm, which was Adjacent to the park. We never paid admission. Ha ha

Run as fast as you can. There’s a good reason they filed for bankruptcy. Terrible service and junk products.

In middle of pandemic our washing machine broke. Lowe's had no washing machine in stock. The Sears home store did and got in installed within a few days.
We got a Kenmore and it is working just fine.

We recently purchased a dishwasher from the Sears Appliance Store in Summerfield. They are very knowledgeable of their products and the availability of them. Covid continues to create a supply issue with appliances so our choices were limited but we are pleased with our selection.
The installation was scheduled and completed with ease. This is the second purchase we have made from this business and highly recommend them.

We had always had Kenmore appliances and had good experiences with them. Our washing machine which was 8 years old died last week and the service person said it would be over 1,000. to repair everything that was wrong with it. So now we have a Samsung from Lowe's with great installation from their personnel.

The Sears "Hometown Stores" like the one on 441 are locally owned franchises just like ACE Hardware so when Sears finally goes all the way down the tubes they will likely remain for whatever that is worth as the owners just bought the name.
Sears Holdings spun off Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores in 2012 to attempt to restore profitability and raise shareholder confidence. Sears Holdings spun off more than 1,100 Hometown and 122 outlet stores. Hometown stores are small hardware and appliance stores operated by independent retailers.

I have the Whirlpool Duet washer & dryer. Bought then maybe 7 yrs ago & love them. Recommended them to my sister who also loves them. They were available either with bog spacious drawers below or with a rack for stacking. I chose the drawers. Bought them from PC Richard but they are sold elsewhere & may even be available directly from whirlpool.

I’ve just checked the very trustworthy Consumer Reports test site for you.
The top seven front load washers are LG.
The top ten top loading HE washers are LG.
The top three top loading regular washers are LG.
The top ten electric dryers are LG.
The top six gas dryers are LG.
I’ve been using the same Kennmore basic washer and dryer for 25 years, but if I were replacing them, wherever I purchased, I’d buy an LG. They are the top products in so many categories. But I also check Consumers Reports.

Not going bankrupt they are bankrupt.

We have had good experience with the Sears store in Bailey Plaza and good service from Sears when needed. We bought a Kenmore French Door Refrigerator there and have been very pleased with it. Would go there for other appliances when the need arises. We also were able to get our replacement filters there.

My father and father in law both worked for Whirlpool for over 45 years. I too worked there a couple of summers while going to college. If you don’t want Whirlpool try Maytag. Whirlpool owns them. Also Amana and Kitchen Aid.

I went there at the start of the year because I wanted to buy all new LG appliances for a house we were buying and online it looked like they could order them. When I got to the store, I was told that they couldn't get ANY LG appliances, much less the specific ones I was looking for. I wondered if it was a case of Sears being in such bad shape that they have lost credit with their vendors or if it was the short supply situation that everyone else was also in. I was able to get all the appliances between Home Depot and Best Buy, though I had to be somewhat flexible in the models I ended up getting rather than the ones I originally had picked out (though I did get the exact fridge I was looking for). And I had to be patient as some took several weeks. Still better than some of my friends who have waited months to get their appliances. I'm still not sure what the situation with that Sears appliance store is and since I'm no longer in the market, I guess I won't be checking them out again any time soon to try to find out.

Our new house came with Whirlpool washer and dryer. Funny thing, it is the exact same set we have at our northern house. For many years we have been buying appliances at Lowe’s or Home Depot as they make it so easy.
