Here’s a new look at the construction going on in The Villages. The video focuses on the Sawgrass Grove entertainment and recreation area and the Community Support District under construction. I also take a look at the Southern Oaks golf course, the Southern Oaks bridge, and the villages of Citrus Grove and Cason Hammock.

Very interesting and informative. A lot to digest. Especially in the new area south of the Turnpike. Will have to watch a couple more times.
Always look forward to your videos. Thanks !!

Thank you for the update. Great foresight in the planning of the southern areas. Mixed use with non-age restricted residential in addition to the expansion of the Villages proper. The school appears well thought out to the extent that, hopefully, it will entice professional people with families to join us. The background information you locate in your research adds a level of detail missing from other online sources. Thank you again.

Thanks Don, excellent update as always!
Do you know where funding for the school construction comes from?

The developer pays the entire cost of building and outfitting the schools. The county, state, and local governments pay nothing.
This is one of the biggest incentives they offer their employees and the employees of their tenant merchants in the commercial properties. These charter schools have also resulted in above average employee retention for all the businesses involved.

Any new guess as to when Sawgrass grove will open?

Wow! That video had to take a LOT of time to put together. Pulling together all the drawings and color coding them. Looking up county records. You definitely put a quality product out. Thanks!

Officially no, best guess based on observation of past construction projects of similar nature here in The Villages, Labor Day.

Interesting how Development providing free schools never comes up during the impact fees discussions.

Compared to the earlier parts of the Villages, there seems to be a lack of Water Towers south of 44 and especially south and west of the Turnpike. Why would this be?

The Southern Oaks bridge currently looks like "the bridge to nowhere" with no paved roadway on the west side of the turnpike. Any idea what's planned for roadways there?

Seriously, do you really think the developer is going to be stupid enough to build "the bridge to nowhere"? Not everything can happen all at one time.
Here's a picture of a small portion of what is coming.

If you look at the Continuing the Dream video from earlier this year at the 19:00 minute mark they talk about things in the area west of the turnpike. Think golf, recreation, research hospital, stores, restaurants, dragonboat and kayak lake. Lots of activity with homes. The question is always when it will be developed.

The answer to "when" is NOW, work is underway in this area already, only a matter of time now until it is completed.

Moe, Curley and Larry only know how to deride and denigrate. They lack the moral character to offer thanks when it is called for and earned.

As always, GREAT information. I'm assuming there will be a spike in taxes for the new schools. Wonder who will be affected it it. All of the Village residents they left their homes because of high school taxes! Our Long Island taxes are outrageous!

Today's "Continuing The Dream" update in the newspaper and YouTube release (The Villages FL News & Construction Update Vol 7: All About Golf - YouTube (https://youtu.be/cOzQh_T1J4I)) confirms what I put out in this video about an additional golf course adjacent to the Community Support District as well as some of the other things I put out.
Also confirmed is the executive course adjacent to the Southern Oaks Bridge and the pitch and put next to the Water Lily bridge that I pointed out in my post https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/villages-florida-general-discussion-73/more-golf-coming-villages-flyover-313211/

They are struggling to keep up with your Don :clap2:
Interesting to hear a driving range with Top Golf like features and golf training center are planned.
With rapidly increasing home prices, sometimes driven by view lots that sold for 50k a year ago now going for 250k+, Sumter will see a huge increase in tax revenue.
