So, in another week or so we will see the release of the Championship golf green fees once the high season rates end beginning June 1st. Just for fun it would be interesting to see who can best predict the new rates, as compared to last years rates for the same time (or somewhat the same time since the high season ended a month earlier last year). I will kick it off with my prediction. Last year Glenview and Lopez had lower rates than all other courses except for Orange Blossom and Hacienda. This year they will be lumped with the other 8 courses that have higher rates. I also predict that rates will increase by $4 per 18 holes for the morning and afternoon wave and by $3 for evening golf. Also, I predict that the new rates will only be good through November, again shortening the low season rates by a month and increasing the high season rates by another month. Just a guess, but we will find out soon.

What is your prediction?

Wow, lots of predictions. I predict we will continue to play on the championship courses.

I predict I will keep playing 'off-campus' where the courses are about the same quality (or better) for less money.

LOL!

typical finance guy -> looking at prices and trying to figure out the future. . . based upon internal financials and marketplace conditions for an assumed monopoly

I do not play in the villages for the month of May. Play outside TV better conditions and much cheaper. Never play Southern links courses- cow pasture with some holes filled with what the villagers call sand. Designed be Tony clear-cut Corp. Plant some oak trees maybe some pine something for shade.

$64 is a very price to charge a resident to play on courses with little to no grass on the fairways. It is time to go back to sharing carts and strictly enforcing the 90 degree rule which should be kept year round.

Haven't played championship courses on campus in over a year, better options (prices and conditions) off campus. I predict that won't change.

Long before the pandemic the fairways were like playing off dirt. I once was told by an ambassador that THe Villages was the only place where you could get tighter lies from the rough than from the fairways. This started years ago when they stopped over seeding the fairways with winter rye. They stopped it saying that it interfered with the Bermuda grass coming in the spring. Trust me, it had nothing to with that, it was all about money. Lots of courses continue to over seed with no problems. Why should they spend the money when they know regardless of conditions the place will be full?

I predict I will continue to play Harbor Hills, Ocala Golf, Lake Diamond, and others for 1/2 the price of the Villages Championship courses.

I have been living here and playing golf here for 19 years. I have seen prices increase over those years and was never asked how I felt about it. I predict that this will not change in the future. They have more players now than ever and we have the choice of either playing or not playing. The main draw they have is called convenience, as opposed to travel outside to play. In the lst 10 years of Havana they averaged 100,000 rounds per year. There are very few golf courses in this country that have that much play. So how can the conditions be maintained like a private country club?
