I have to ask, and I don't expect real answers, but we will see

Do you believe what you post? Or are you just poking the lion?

Remember the cartoon from way back when the guy stands outside the lion's cage in the zoo and pokes the lion with his umbrella.

And if you are poking the lion (I expect some are, even if they won't admit it) do you recall what happened to the guy poking the lion?

Great post. I hate to be one of those "back in the day" kind of oerson, but when political was set up on here, I recall TWO sides, both always sharing links to support whatever argument the were making. The idea was to learn and share.

Now with the cult like behavior, the ease of lying, a lot just sit back and level "shots"

Interesting is that those who call for "personal responsibility" are the worst offenders...they will share and accept any junk offered, as long as it fits their narrative.

And never hold anyone responsible anyone for posting lies.

Sounds like you are calling for personal responsibility and yes you are one of the worst offenders regarding a false narrative. So I agree with you.

Speaking about poking a lion and a cage. Many years ago In Omaha, Nb. there was a small free zoo. I was sitting down taking a break about 50 feet from the lion cage. It was one MALE lion pacing back and forth in the front of his cage where the bars were. There was some barrier about 8 ft from the cage bars. A crowd of about 10 early teenage boys and girls were TEASING the lion. Yelling, waving their hands and, I believe, hitting him with small stones. They were laughing, "King of the beasts" are you?

Well, he did show all 10 of them that he really did earn his title. He lifted his rear leg and out came a yellow fire hose that soaked them all. They shut their mouths quickly, put their heads DOWN, and embarrassed completely, they walked away. I bet they STANK for days afterward. I wonder if dogs would have run away from them or toward them with that smell? I wonder what they told their parents? They would be about 60 years old today - I wonder if any of them laugh about it now and tell the story today? Maybe one lives in TV Land? Small chance? Maybe someone else from Omaha has heard of the Lion with the firehose?

Sometimes I try to use sarcasm to illustrate a point. Most of the time I post my authentic ideas. We all are limited because we do not have 100% free speech. We have to dance around political issues. It's like being in the Soviet Union. We get put into the gulag for a week or like today about masks - we get our interest cut short. So, we are forced to be less than authentic because of a bureaucratic agenda. The light of freedom shines dimly on TV Land. The statue of liberty has blinders on. It is shameful considering how many WW1 and WW2 veterans living here have spilled their blood so that they could open their mouths and NOT be told what can and can NOT come out!

Freedom of Speech specifically says the government can not limit what you say, companies unlike the government have no such limitations on them.

i'm free to express my opinions-and listen to yours. we need to speak TO each other again, as opposed to speaking AT. (i put the blame on social media) commenters should be able to look past all the labels to just accept each other for who we are, openly discussing ideas without the threat of throwing shame--how dull would it be if we were all alike?

Example please of me spinning a false narrative.

Thanks

OP says in the opening and setting the subject..

"Do you believe what you post? Or are you just poking the lion?

In post #4, you accuse me saying this...." you are one of the worst offenders regarding a false narrative"

In post#10, I asked you this..."Example please of me spinning a false narrative.

Thanks

In the spirit of the thread subject, I hope you will reply with specifics...nobody likes to be called a liar as you did, and i want to get it straight.

Thanks again

I believe what I post but don’t think that means it must be true and am open to counter arguments. Recently someone posted an excellent well balanced article on the two theories of the origins of covid 19 in regard to an OP post on Dr Fauci’s involvement in gain of function research. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to read the whole article and can’t find it now to finish reading. I also decided to read a NYT best selling non fiction book called “The Hot Zone” on virology and the near start of an Ebola outbreak in Washington DC. Very scary true story.

Outstanding answer. Thank you. I do believe what I say, and I too will freely admit sometimes I am wrong, but that does not mean I lied, it just means I was wrong about something I said. I would hope people would point out when I am wrong, so I can learn.
