In his hotel room, which looked like a shower stall with half-hearted ambition, Archer ditched his hat on the bed, tucked his satchel in the narrow closet with two feeble hangers dangling from the wooden rod, and sat in the one chair by the one window. This in on page 7.

From the start of David Baldacci's latest Archer book which so far is quite good.

I have been reading his books for decades and seldom am disappointed with one.

He is describing his trip to Reno, Nevada in the late 1940s. We lived there from 1970 through 1984. I was away at the University of Denver Graduate School of Librarianship and Information Science for 1983-1984 but came back rather often as the school was on a quarter calendar. So, I saw a lot of Reno for 14 years or so.
