Why don't you simply call the practice? The reason she left may be important

I called twice, one day apart, 2 different numbers. Neither will say, her practice ends at Water's Edge, Lady Lake on the 20th. It's their policy not to comment where she is re-locating.

If she stays in the area she would probably reach out to former patients, unless of course she signed a non compete.

Far from an expert but a non compete contract I doubt could be enforced on a doctor.
After years of training she would now ???? do lawn mowing???????

Records? Depending why she left, do not have any knowledge of the doctor if there is a negative reason or even just different ideas the other partners would do their best to prevent her getting the records.

I had a doctor that I used for many years. He was sort of a friend. He was a bit of a gossip. At one time he had an independent practice. Like so many others, cost saving, having others to cover for him at time off etc he joined a partnership. There were all kinds of negs. The office manager who was not at all nice to deal with one one of the partners wives. The girl doing ekgs was one of the partners daughters. It is a very simple thing to do. She could not figure out how to do it and she had a very unpleasant personality. He also told me the other partners told him he had to get his billing up.

Being a doctor today, having insurance tell you what you can do and what you can charge. It is far different then when the doctor would come to your home. Know your family life, etc. Today it is sort of an endless assembly line job making life and death decisions all day long.

I don' know how recent all this is.
Try an internet search. On the 20th, a week away. Unless, if you have an emergency, you might try an internet search at the end of the month. Even doctors get sick, family issues etc. This area, with so many people on medicare doctors do not make what the do elsewhere.

Another statistic. She was a fine and very caring Doctor. Maybe she is opening her very own business. Pimple Popper II. :1rotfl::1rotfl: We wish her well.

Maybe the attitude of some of the office staff affected her business at Waters Edge. I've seen some pretty nasty behavior from some of the support staff. None of the problems involved me or mine. There are also many very nice people working there also.

Ive had drs relocate occasionally and always received a letter as a courtesy letting me know. Within 2 months, I would again be notified where they were. So? Either wait or find another Dr. simple

No, the non-compete contracts are for a set time and a set geographical area. Typically, a several mile radius around the previous practice.

AFA records are concerned, if she was employed by the practice, she most likely will no longer have access to the records...

The practice can’t and won’t tell you why any physician leaves a practice

I had never heard of Waters Edge Dermatology.

It appears it has 38 locations throughout Florida.

I think it would be unusual if the doctor did NOT sign a non-compete clause. The practice does not want a doctor quitting and opening a competing practice, or taking their patients with them to a new practice. For the record, I am a medical librarian with a cardiologist wife and sons-in-law in family practice and dermatology.

OK, so I googled her and it says she is currently at Waters Edge. You might have to wait till she settles into her new office.

I have experienced this several times. Worst than that is them not forwarding your records to your new Drs. office. Within the last month, I experienced this with an Eye practice chain here in the Villages. After my first apptmt. when I discovered only a few recent tests were sent to the new office I had to write a threatening email saying I would come to the office and announce this in their always overcrowded waiting room. I was called by them within an hour and they said they will mail all my records to the second practice rather than fax; weak excuse. I'm dealing with what could be a premature or incorrect diagnosis and want a second expert opinion.

When I saw Dr. Alexander last week, she told me that she was leaving the practice but would still be in the area. I replied, "I will find you." I expect the new practice will have an announcement or press release regarding her new affiliation.

My dermatologist there left last year. He ended up working at another practice in Port St Lucie area. The young doctors do not want to stay here if they are any good at all. I have had several good young doctors that I grew trustful of here leave the area.

All doctors in the state are licensed. You can query their name at the DOH and it tells you where they are practicing. Here is her link
