There was a BIG fire at Market of Marion on US Highway 441 south of Belleview last night. Reports say over 15,000 square feet were destroyed in a fire around 10:30 PM last night. Anyone who was planning to go shopping there this weekend, or anytime soon, had better change their plans. If you Google Market of Marion Fire, there are a few pictures in one of the news articles.

I am a vendor there and I am told it will possibly be "business as usual" on Sunday. Only the last two aisles were burned, my aisle was OK from what I understand although I am going to call later on to make sure that the market is opened tomorrow morning. (Sunday)

Rode by today and could not see anything other than law enforcement at entrance. Must have been in the back. Hope all are okay and that the vendors who have losses are able to recover.

I'm sad for the vendors who have losses, very thankful that apparently no one was injured. Tallulah, please keep us posted on whether the market reopens Sunday. Best wishes to you and all involved.

I have The Car Wash at the entrance of the Market Of Marion. The Market will be OPEN sep.19 Sunday- now is when the cummunity needs to rally around all the vendors at the Market to keep it alive- we are not Walmart,we are over 1000 vendors strong and rely on the people in our community to help keep buisiness going. This community has kept The Market Of Marion in buisiness for many years. So please come support usand do your shopping as you have for many years. Thank you so much for your support and buisiness.

Based on article in Ocala Star Banner today, many of the vendors who lost everything had no insurance. Really sad.
