View Full Version : Rare Brass Dragon Fly seen on Fenny Nature Trail

I am cleaning out some old catalogs and doing a bit of organizing. I ran across a couple of photos of the extremely rare Brass Dragonfly - native to Central Florida...

Actually an immature male Needham's Skimmer (Libellula Needhami). He will turn red with age.

Wow! What a beautiful insect. The intricacy of his/her wings is awesome. Thanks for sharing, I had no idea such a thing existed.

Well, don't tell anyone, but it is a tad "adjusted" to look like a brass dragonfly :)

But, just the saturation and contract. It really is that color just not so bright.
