We just got our utilities bill and the amenities portion went up to $157.03. Did I miss a memo some place? Thanks

Instead of making you play the guessing game by making you scroll through the links, here is your answer:

The amenities fee increase annually at the anniversary of the purchase. It increases at the CPI urban rate.

The CPI has several rates, the urban rate is most commonly called 'The CPI' as most Americans live in urban centers.

It actually took me less time to answer you than scold you by providing the links of a search, how novel!

My bad, people. Looked at my bill more carefully and they added a mysterious “late fee” they said someone would call back to figure it out. We have auto deduct. Sorry I was confused about the amenity fee

Yeah, they keep going up, but not at an unreasonable rate. Find another place where you get as much for your amenity or condo fees as you do in The Villages.

Just goes to show you have to really watch every bill whether it comes by postal mail or just on the internet and use auto deduct

Every year in January the amenity fee adjusts on all homes sold in that year $164 this year for all homes sold in this year. Has nothing to do with where you live. Yours will adjust from where you start on your purchase date. By CPI

Yes, but you still scolded someone, just not the OP. How un-novel.

Where did you hear that since you no longer live in TV. What do you mean real high and why would it be?

Inflation is going up because of government spending.
You may have hated the orange man but you are going to pay for it from now on.

If I recall correctly the national debt went up from 20 trillion to 27 trillion (+7 trillion dollars) between 2016 and 2020.

In 2016 it was 20 trillion. Then it went to 20.3, 20.9, 21.5, then the pandemic and it went to 27. Up 5.5 trillion in one year when the country was closed down. And it will be close to that again this year and next until the country gets back to normal.

Amenity fees are not based on the village you live in.

Much of that has been incurred in just a few months this year, but it will be helped slightly when the extra unemployment money is cancelled early by the 'smart' states who believe you should actually WORK to get paid..

New amenity fee is now $164 as of first of the year, but it depends on the dat of your closing. They will all be $164 by the end of the year I think...

The Amenity fee varies from home to home based on the prevailing rate at the time of closing, any rate increase deferrals that may have occurred when the Deferral rate was in effect, and the annual CPI adjustment that varies month-to-month.

Two identical homes in the same neighborhood could have significantly different (up to $15/month?) Amenity Fee rates depending on the date each home was last purchased.
