What do y'all think about these usage data apps car insurance companies are trying to get us to sign up for? Did anyone decline and have a major insurance increase?

I Always decline. Don't need them know when or how hard I step on the brakes or how fast I accelerate to pass a truck on the turnpike or when a light turns green. If you save anything it means you are paying too much to start. Ever think what happens if you drive poorly?

I was more concerned about them collecting data on when and where I go, none of their business, too easy for abuse or sale to a 3rd party...

I signed up for it on Allstate, but the app doesn't work very well so I don't get the credits I should get. It doesn't always notice that I'm going somewhere, and sometimes it won't notice until I'm almost back from the trip. And other times it'll activate while I'm riding my bicycle. I keep thinking eventually I'll get a credit toward my premium but at this point I'll probably just delete the app.

Exactly! When I go out of town on vacation, I would be worried to death about my place. When I voice these concerns, they act like I'm crazy and paranoid.
