Okay, my wife and I came here for our lifestyle visit in August of 2020 and in February we bought a home here in Spanish Springs. On that lifestyle week though, we drove our golf cart up from Brownwood to Spanish Springs just to see everything available.
We came across a stretch of golf cart path (maybe 200 yards or so) that was completely covered by trees overhead, almost like a trellis. it seems like it was maybe somewhere between 466A and 466. Not sure if it was Morse or Buena Vista. When my wife and I saw this stretch we both said, "Oh my gosh this place is beautiful!" (meaning all of The Villages). It COULD be north of 466. Because it was our first visit we didn't know the area at all back then.
Yesterday was our 5th time out on a long trip where we also hoped to maybe stumble upon that area again-- with no luck. Does this beautiful stretch of golf cart path sound familiar to anyone? We would love to find it again!

That sounds like the golf cart path between Laurel Manor Rec Center and Saddlebrook Rec Center - north of 466 & east of Buena Vista, parallel with Buena Vista.

Go over to Laurel Manor rec center on your golf cart and find the path that goes under 466 - that will take you thru the tunnel of trees and you will end up coming out in Saddlebrook rec center. It's a bit tricky to find but ask others and they will direct you. There's a little golf cart roundabout near Laurel Manor if I remember correctly and it's not far from that. It truly is a beautiful path. And it's not real busy - I went thru there to go to the Alzheimers Walk at the Polo grounds a couple of months ago. Enjoy!

There is a stretch like that over by the polo fields. I think you get to it off Buena Vista but I couldn't really give you directions. We live in Pine Hills and go through it when we go from here to the polo field. It is near Saddlebrook golf course. It really is beautiful.

Thanks. The last sentence - it was sarcasm. I knew exactly where it was. I also knew exactly where this thread was going after five correct responses in a row with no disagreement. "A new TOTV record". Still plenty of time left in this thread for controversy. Great entertainment.

Looks like most people gave you the location, between Laurel Manor and Saddlebrook. It reminds us of Tunnel of the Trees in Kauai Hawaii! Plus, it's about 10-15 degrees cooler in the summer!! Welcome and enjoy your life in the Villages!

So- If I'm on Buena Vista heading north towards 466, I cross under 466 , but won't I still be on Buena Vista. People are saying it's parallel to Buena vista. Do you have to turn off somewhere after you come out of the tunnel? I'm not going to be in TV till July and would love to check it out.

During one of our rentals, we usually used what we came to call "canopy lane" (next to the executive course) on our way back to the house. Since we were sightseeing most of the time and it was about equal taking the Morse or Buena Vista trails to LSL, we would come down Morse for the thrill of trying to merge & weave across the road to the short/narrow bridge before the guard shack, without getting crushed by rushing vehicles on Morse. We figured if we got nailed trying to get across the road though, at least there was a church just across the bridge where last rites could be performed. lol On our way back home, we would usually come back up on the Buena Vista trail (past Laurel Manor and under the bridge), to come up the portion of the overhanging trees next to the course. It wasn't until about the third time northbound through this area though, that we figured out the quick turnoff to the cart tunnel, before ending up on the road and using the traffic light at the polo grounds. Lots of honked horns on that little move also. ha-ha We did notice though, that the actual cart path led to a tight 90 degree turn to the tunnel under Buena Vista and what looked like lots of scrape and paint marks on the tunnel entrance crown. I'm guessing that more than a few people have found out the hard way, how tight and low the turn into that tunnel is. Now with all of the exploring south of the turnpike yet to do, it will be interesting to see if there are any little secrets/hidden/dangerous turns down in that area - or if they've continued to learn from their previously ill-designed sections (you can tell that things get wider and the curves less severe, the further south you go).

We went exploring today to find the lane. A little tricky to get to the first time but shouldn't be bad in the future. We also found the one-way cart path and sharp turn into the narrow tunnel - that was fun. Now I know of two speed bumps on the (non-golfing) golf cart paths.

You cross under BV at Laura manor before 466, on 466 side of Laura manor there will be tunnel under 466, once you go into that tunnel ( going north) it comes out on saddlebrook golf course on left. You are now entering tunnel of love up to saddlebrook rec center. Once pass saddlebrook you have or cross under BV to head north on B/V cart path that parallels BV heading north to Savannah center or glenview.

466 runs east & west

picnic area is along Morse multi-modal
The tree tunnel is along Buena Vista.....as noted in the 30 or 40 above posts.
