I don't understand why we have an aversion to change. Maybe we just like to complain instead of accepting innovation.

that's ok, over time we will see it used for all kinds of things, household or otherwise: papertowels, cardboard, etc :)

Your comment about aversion to change, and liking to complain is a big stretch. I have not seen any hemp products or any other substitutes available at any price in the lumber yard to substitute for a sheet of plywood or 2x4s. Not every use for wood products involves building house side walls. As example, I can't use a hemp block to make a work bench for my garage. Until their are viable substitutes, I fully understand the complaints about the 300%-400% price increase in structural lumber.
Or do you just like to stir the pot?

Are you complaining?? Yes, we do have an aversion to change. People complain about electric cars, and their batteries, etc. Am I stirring the pot? No! Hemp has very, very little THC. ;-)
If the housing contractors started using hemp to build houses, guess what happens, the price of wood comes down, and you get to build your work bench, OR, better yet, use hemp wood to build your work bench. Hemp, it's not just building blocks. Wood, clothing and other items are made from hemp.

I don't need an economics 101 lecture from you about supply and demand. Where is the viable substitute for a sheet of plywood? Well I really don't need to ask because you already know there isn't one available hemp or otherwise. Therefore I can understand why people are concerned by the hugh price increases.
I don't really understand your agenda by being critical with your comments about complaining and being critical and adverse to change. You don't know me and I think you are being unkind.

Yes, we will. It's sad though that it takes us so long to see change. It took 25 years for salt water pools to make it here from Australia.

You don't really understand. You should've stopped with just those words.
He's not talking about substituting a sheet of plywood with a sheet of hemp. He's talking about INCLUDING hemp in construction wherever it's appropriate to do so.
And by doing that, the price of wood goes down because of supply/demand. The less you need wood, the lower its price. This isn't about replacing wood with hemp. It's about supplementing wood construction materials with hemp materials to keep overall costs down.

To each his own. I would invest. Hemp is stronger than wood, does not burn, or get termites. It may even bring insurance prices down, since it doesn't burn.

I have bamboo floors in my cottage. They seem to be very tough and they look good.

Yes, there are alternatives. I'm anxious to have a house built from hemp.

Hemp cars to hemp shoes. I found several sites that sell hemp shoes. I thought some of the FAQs were funny, such as "Can I smoke my shoes?" Probably not a real question to "If I wear hemp shoes to travel by air will the TSA dogs come after me at the airport?"
Here's just one show site. If you explore, you can also find hemp clothing as well.
