If you're receiving your local television channels by an antenna, you share my frustration in acquiring WESH's signal. Looks like they're finally changing their broadcast frequently from VHF to UHF on June ,22nd. Hopefully, it will be located geographically with the other Orlando stations.

If you bought one of those cheap antennas then you might not get it. I assume you did rescan. Get a good antenna (might need a booster).

It's not really VHF to UHF that matters it's LOCATION of the transmitter relative to you. Actually VHF has much greater coverage and UHF has less and is more line of sight. VHF can survive a hill many times better than UHF. If they use the same towers (unless if they have repeaters) you'll be just as bad (or worse) off.

Thanks for that welcome information.

It matters if your antenna is only UHF. WESH does have a low power UHF transmitter in Ocala, but that would take another antenna pointed that way to pull in a signal.

That may be the technical answer. In reality I have a UHF antenna in my attic and a quality VHF antenna on my roof. The reception on the UHF in my attic is wonderful.
The VHF reception on my roof is mostly okay but breaks up sometimes.
Really looking forward to the transition. I live near Brownwood.

You do not need an antenna anymore to get local stations. Locast is free and it works off your internet.

Locast isn't free, they constantly are asking for donations. They're ok in a pinch, but not a long-term solution.

Apparently it's been moved back to the 30th.
WESH 2 and MeTV Central Florida are moving frequencies to upgrade their signal to NextGen TV. If you receive these channels through an antenna, you must rescan your television on or after June 30 at 10 a.m. to continue watching WESH 2 and MeTV Central Florida. Cable and satellite viewers will not be affected.

Yes, definitely NOT free. More like a scam.

Did my rescan today and have a nice, crisp, and strong WESH signal. Definitely stronger than the other Orlando stations,

Same here, also picked up a few more stations with my cheap attic antenna.

Anybody else not getting WESH program information on their guide?

Everything is good here. I did a minor attic antenna relocation/repositioning project. Pointed at 112°, rescanned 74 channels. That's a record high number for me!

Go to Antenna Man - Cut The Cord (http://WWW.ANTENNAMANPA.com) to get good advice on getting over the air TV.
