I know changes in the apperance of the house have to be approved. My question is, to whom do I request the change? and, how small a change to not require the OK?
small things like Moving a small tree in the front yard or back yard, putting windows in the garage door, adding hedge to a side yard, changing lights on the front of the house?
We close on our Buttonwood home October 1. Not long now!

Not sure where the cut off is for asking permission but you may want to call them --thisnumber was posted in a different thread
The Architectural Review Committee at 1894 Laural Manor Drive - phone 751-6719.

We made a lot of improvements to our last home in TV, a CYV. Without requesting approval from the ARC. Examples: New front glass door, rock instead of grass, large queen palm, etc. Everything professionally done. (We did require a building permit for the addition of a large birdcage).
Everything we did was "in keeping with the neighbourhood" and had been done by other people in the complex.
I usually call ARC and chat with them before doing anything. They are quite kind and responsive. I think you're supposed to request approval for construction changes or large landscaping jobs. If Neighbourhood Watch spots a large project in progress, they may question you on whether you have approval. But for small changes, if what you do is tasteful, I don't think you'll generate any complaints from your neighbours. No purple doors. :22yikes:
On the other hand, things are changing, at least in Sumter County. Now you need a building permit to install solar tubes. :censored:
